Ok, we can see ships on the 'world map' - why can't we see other vehicles?
Like a little red dot to indicate a vehcile is on the road. It doesn't nessacerily have to show which way the vehicle is going - ships have free movement so show direction, land vehciles have set paths so don't. It'd look like the little dot of yourself when you travel, only a different colour.
Edit: My spelling sucks lol

I agree with this. I've always wondered about this too, as well as why we can't see ships type and name from a town where the ship is visible from town overhead map, though the town doesn't have sea/lake access.

Yes, it would be good to see land vehicles. But given that most roads can be traveled by cars within one tick, visibility is of no use as far as security is concerned. But if travel is updated more regularly than every Cantr hour, this is very useful.

Re: See land vehicles
The sea is flat (actually not true, but it is for the sake of this argument). Roads may not be flat. It wouldn't make any sense for a town in the hills to be able to see a car on the far side of the next hill over. So I "nay" this suggestion.
However, I do think that you should be able to see ship details from landlocked towns, provided they're close enough.

We also have an established sight range on roads of so many pixels, so we might get a conflict of rules there.
I also wonder if it would even be technically possible. As far as I know, vehicle positions are saved as a combination of road, start town and progress and since there seems to be a slight discrepancy between road parameters and the physical appearance of the world in some regions, vehicles might be inevitably shown in the wrong positions.

But the pixle range will show you whose in it, what it is and allow you to interact with them. It'd be good to just see somethings there.

Re: See land vehicles
It could be textual like in FTO. "You see some people traveling away." Display everything that's close enough to a town. Without free roaming, that would make more sense than displaying dots on the map. That would stop people from stopping their vehicles right outside a town to prepare for an attack, they would need to do it further down a road. They might still get there in one tick but it might require more planning not to be detected.
