The door is locked, do you want to use the key to enter?

Postby Arenti » Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:07 pm

Well the title should make my suggestion clear already. Its useful for seeing if doors are locked without having to enter the building or room or vehicle when you do have the key to the building.

It would certainly be good if there was an option to check if a door is locked without barging in. But maybe rather than asking for confirmation every time, there could be a second button for tugging on the door to test if it's locked or not. That would also allow people to check if a door is open without entering.

Useful for crowbars too, if you don't want to break a lock, but want to see if it's locked. (with no key)

Yes thats even better. As I had a problem with having to confirm wanting to enter everytime.

But then how do I trick people to see if they're potential theives or not? I need them to try and steal from the empty room so I know for sure...

Why would implementing this stop that?

That's not a relevant argument, because implementation of dragging from outside would allow people to peak inside buildings anyway, so your trap is going the way of the dodo.

Anyone else who has an opinion about this? As it seems no one so far is against it.

Well, I'm against. At least original suggestion. Think about moving large amounts of resources, eg. 300kg. It would be one extra page every time you move from one place to another... Pain in the... err...
However, Seko's suggestion would do...
