Trouble with Renaming

Often, when I try to rename someone and I click on the "Change" button, I am taken to the player page and receive the following message:

ERROR: You are not allowed to view events of other players!

and then I have to go back and try to rename the person again, because the change doesn't take. Is there a fix for this?

That happens to me a lot. Not only when I'm trying to change names, but even if I'm just typing something that my character says or emotes. The posts always show though, but the name-changes do not.

That happens to me, but I don't get that message. I just get a page of mySQL errors. If you disable the automated event refresher, it will stop.

Oh, ok! And sorry, but I'm a newb: how do I disable the refresher?

Hit the change button on your character page. There should be an option to disable javascript.

I've never even seen the refresher do anything anyway. Its so going off. Hopefully thats that annoying problem solved.
