Pssh, at least you got colours.

My group feels a bit like the club where pensioners are sent when they have nothing else to do. :P

It makes it clear who does what. Very pretty too.
Reveal to me the mysteries
Can you tell me what it means?
Explain these motions and metaphors
Unlock these secrets in me
Describe the vision, the meaning is missing
Won't anybody listen?

Lol, Surly got fuschia.
Not that that's a bad thing, of course.
Congratulations for getting a colour now, Surly.

The ProgD color has been changed to a dark blue, and colors added to the Resources and Languages Departments, and Surly. In fact, Surly is the only Emeritus not labeled in another department, as well as being the only one active. Let me know if the pink is too much.
It isn't much trouble for the colors to be changed, if there's a problem.

Yay for colors!

I think it is a nice touch to the forums.

The group colors look fine on individual users. However, with every department being a different color mixed with different user colors, i think the whole thing looks like unorganized. There are way too many colors going on the screen and it no longer looks like the forums have a theme, just chaos.

Tch! Rainbow is not chaos, it's celestial beauty!

And I like my... gold? Khaki? Old rotten egg?

I like to think of it as gold. :)

I feel like having departments different colors along with the staff members makes it more organized and easier to understand.

A side effect of the color changes is that the department names are colored in the forum description box, and indeed it looks a little messy. I had only desired for user names to be colored. There's two courses of action:

1) Make the department color hues compatible
2) Truncate department names to reduce the color clutter.

I'll be trying #1 now using this tool:
http://colorschemedesigner.com/#

If that doesn't help, I'll move to step 2.
