Yes good points by all, but usually topics turn to open banter when the topic has ended or there is little left to discuss.

Again, you shouldn't discourage posting unless it gets to the point of spam. Users feel less inclined to post which in turn creates less enthusiasm and overall less activity.

And don't forget that it's the users who create views on adverts and subscribe, who in turn pay for the servers and thus the forums.

More posts, whether they're on-topic or not, generate more ad views, and sustain Cantr for the long term.

Anyone against that ideology is fundamentally against Cantr.

Geez, I should start some kind of political group. I have an innate ability for bullshitting my way out of impossible situations..

In honor of staying on topic, I made a new thread:
http://forum.cantr.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19723&p=414949#p414949

Edit:

The characters will get revived, and it seems to be going smoothly.

The topic was whether or not we have been hacked?

Doesn't this make everyone a hypocrit now?

So if the topic goes off-topic, but it's a topic which staff deem to be okay, ie 'A Cantr Revolution', then it's okay to go off-topic?

Can't you guys see the ludicracy of your own feeble attempts to defend your incorrect positions?

If Cantr wasn't hacked and there wasn't a security vulnerability are we still going to have to wait two weeks for Cantr to come back up?
I did it cuz I hate you.

There are always security vulnerabilities. :)

We think we'll be able to open earlier than the 18th. Things seem to be looking good when it comes to reviving characters and sorting out what stuff belonged to what character.

Shouldn't this thread be locked then since...there was no hacking?

It says if we have been hacked. Not that we have been hacked.
