Re: Save the Green Screen!
i don't have much money, so i won't donate regularly - but i'll keep in mind to donate 10$ from time to time.
in fact, when i found this game in february, i was so glad about finally finding another non-commercial game among those tons of bugged bullshit we-only-want-your-money games, and so i decided to try it out and to donate something after a few weeks if i liked it (and of course i did
).
good, interesting, non-commercial browsergames are so rare.. if we want to play a good game we should at least support it with our work and/or some money. i guess, if every player would be willing to pay, the amount everyone has to spend would be VERY small.

I'm surprised that not more people reacted on this thread.

What, to brag about how much they donate?
I think the majority of people who donate, are somewhat modest.

Just like the creator of this thread, I have yet to delete the message. I have yet to act upon it, but I want it there to remind me of how long I have enjoyed cantr and how little I have contributed. I intend to do a one time a few times but so far it has been no times.

Not with the month that this message was sent out.
So basically it is costing 100$ a month for server rentals and 35$ a month is donated. 45$ a month from ads after the paying for Cantr adds (not that I have ever seen a Cantr ad)
Is the new server more or less expensive?

There is no new server (yet) I think.

I thought that the downtime was due to migrating to a new server....

Downtime was because the server was physically MOVED.
And Doug, thanks for the reminder. I went ahead and did a monthly paypal sub -- I used to a long time ago, we need to get back up to it. Looks like at one point we had a good 50-60 monthly...it would be great if we could pay for the server with donations, then use the advert money for other things (like investing toward a new server or paying for Facebook ads and the like).

Re: Save the Green Screen!
Wait a minute... I have been donating 20 dollars for some time. If I see 35 dollars for one month is it really so few people donate? And I hope it has gone up now?
I decided to donate an extra 20 dollars a month. I will do that when I get back from work.
