Without getting into detail I can only say that we are working on making it better and more stable.

The recent/current events have nothing or very little to do with Cantr staff or Cantr itself, as the problems were caused by the hosting companys (virtual) move of - and change of IP address to - the server that is rented for Cantr.

Oh no, I'm not saying anything about cantr staff or anything. You guys are awesome for working so hard on getting it back up again. It's just that it's frustrating, to say the least, when a game that I've been JUST getting back into enjoying has been down for three days, up for one, and back down again for who knows how long. Regardless of the reason, it's still making me wonder why I even bother.
Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back.

It seems to be up again, except that when I log in and try to go to a character page it lags right there.

I understand, and share, the frustrations. But it's not like Cantr is down often. How long was it running stable before this server move? The downtime sucks, but at least this is an "external" issue rather than something being wrong with the coding or game itself.

edit: it's accessible but moving very slow.

Personally the thought that it might go down again any minute just makes me take the most out of when it's not down.

The "slow move" was a startup thing, should be sorted out now. If not let us know.

Why can't there be some of your characters in the same town as mine?

There would be a couple if you hadn't killed off your previous batch of characters.

Yes but you do for other reasons than me. You want it to stay up so I won't spam the forums.

And I so hoped that wasn't the reason. :(
