i was considering perfect and grittier, ended up picking perfect as.. there really is a mix of different cultures across the cantrscape, a variety of government types, solo city states and large dynastic empires pop up now and then, some places have a general no kill policy while others have a kill first ask questions second motto, it really is a beautiful thing.

I think dead rate is already high enough with people stopping and such. And the ones left really want to have fun and make something from their chars. And it annoys me when there are a bunch of killers running lose killing such chars. Especially because most of such murderers don't play for long. And yes sometimes they die. But most stop soon I believe.
There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

Grittier world with more chances to die would not promote builders. Only self-sufficient bands.

I think that each GAB member should get one character that they can play as a god, and would be allowed to use all the game tools to know as much as they wanted. The gods would then war with each other across the Cantr world, wreaking havoc. There would be points for power usage (like, killing a character instantly would cost serious points, viewing events would cost less, etc), and points would be gained by the active worshiping of followers. Of course, this would only amuse me until my own beloved followers started getting pwnd.

I don't know. I might honestly enjoy knowing a character of mine devoutly followed the DougR Deity and was martyred for his faith.
Adds a certain je ne sais quoi to an otherwise throwaway character should the muse strike...

I would love to implement the Dionysian sacrifices: butchering a god, dancing with the drums and flutes, preferably drunk.
Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.

What's stopping you from having that arrangement with a char now? lol I know of a few with the power and personality to play the role of a moody deity, and one of my own chars would fit right in as a grovelling servant.

Well, of course, it could be done, but with Doug's suggestion the Deity-in-question would have full Code-base powers and could perform miracles.
...that, plus the times I've tried to make a religious character who acted in this way, was smacked down by the locals as "tha's not the way the game works" so he wandered off to be "crazy" alone. Worshiping a powerful town leader like a god/dess has been tried, and shot down for me, sadly...

And Arenti, not as a follower of a God, but as a friend, yes, one of mine followed you readily into any project you sent him.

I know. And Stone was his very best friend. And Stone really infected people by using the word boss for Arenti. lol more and more started to use that.
