Characters that irritate you/yours -

hmm, i often consider most of my characters as... well... lets say you have different aspects of your personality, so different characters are made by different percentages of mixes of the componants of my own personality. some characters even have parts of my personality omitted, some have things not even in my personality added or so miniscule that it's basically like adding a new componant. sometimes you can almost be sure you know one char is played by the same player as another char because some features of how the chars are played seem to really link. some chars can start out as basically the player and thier induvidual personality evolves from thier own life in the game and therefore diverge in personality from thier base starting personas.

you can start out with something completly made up, one char you decide will be a vulgar onery bastard, another will be a temper free saint, and another will be a savage murderous letch with a hair trigger temper.

my chars do get irritated by different things. some absolutly cannot tolerate someone from a different language, some immerse themselves in other languages. one char can hate beggers and slap them every time they open thier mouthes, while another will help them any way possible and take them under thier wing. but everyone has varying degrees on how they can seperate themselves from thier chars and seperate thier chars from eachother. on occasion you might get a player who spawns every char to be a porn star, in game some places have brothels, while in other places they get executed, so be it, gives us things to do in game and most cities have at least a couple chars who love a good hunt.

I've seen some chars in game use "lol" which just pisses me off.

Kids are using netspeak in conversation now. LOL, OMG, etc.

And not just kids. I was in line at the supermarket the other day, and there was a 30 something woman chatting with her friend, and actually used "O-M-G" in the conversation (although there was a funnier moment on that shopping trip -- kid on the cellphone --"Is there a difference between brisket and roast beef?......Well, go ask Mom. It's a matter of life and death!")

If I don't understand how to play, explain to me how I'm on the Game Administration Board. I've been role-playing since I was in middle school. Role-playing is playing a role. Acting is becoming someone else. There IS a difference, and I'm sorry you can't see that. I'm done arguing with you over stupid piddly shit stuff. Consider yourself ignored from here on out.

I'm actually gonna have to go with Returner on this one...(I know, I'm shocked at myself. ^_~) Things in the game that irritate me personally, don't bother my chars at all, unless it's in their personalities to be irritated by it.

There are several chars that I-as a player-can't stand. I cringe just seeing their names, much less reading their posts and actually rping with them. But I also have several chars who associate with said irritating chars on a daily basis, or even close friends with them. So just because I'm irritated by them, doesn't mean that my chars will be.

Fair enough, but do you consider it fundamentally wrong on some quasi-moral level that this is not true for many others that play, as returner apparently does?

I think anything having to do with your chars should be consistent with their personalities, regardless of how you feel personally. But I do understand that it's not like that for everyone, even if I think it should be. lol

Well, considering that all my character's personalities are based on aspects of my personality (remember, I can't act), then I guess we're on the same page.

The type of character who kills your character just because your character didn't suck up enough and to their liking. -sniffle- And I've had this happen soooooo many times!

I admit that the capitalization and punctuation is a big pet peeve for me, but the only thing that -might- irritate my chars is therunonscentencesthatneverhaveapunctuationandwouldsoundlikethistomyearsliketheyreneverevertakingabreath. *gasps for breath* Yeah...that.

All of my chars are based off of parts of my own personality as well, but they're all different pieces, so something that irritates one of my chars, might not bother the others at all, or me. Or something that they hate/love can be something that I love/hate (respectively. lol) Maybe I can do it cause I'm borderline schizo? ^_~
