So make it easier to report as in a button on a good please to report. As it seems some people seem to have difficulty with reporting.

When I added the report mechanism for custom descriptions, I wrote it so that it could be later used for reporting other things as well. Although one of the things it requires is offender id and if people were reporting events, there might be several offenders. But we can probably get around that. There could be a report abuse button at the end of the events list and when you click on it, it would reload the events onto a new page as a static version along with a checkbox for each one, and you could check the ones that are relevant, then click continue and it would combine the events into a list and put that in the abuse text variable, then you would be forwarded to the form where you could write extra details if necessary and send it. I'm pretty sure that some people haven't noticed the contact form since it's so down on the page that people might not scroll that far.

People already do this, but it takes longer. I think it should be allowed, especially via dramatic means (stabbing, slashing, drowning etc). Ive wanted to RP this a few times.

If you lock up the char slot for a while, its the same as if they just starved themselves, except more RP possibility.

Also, if your worried about abuse, why not just disallow newspawns from doing it? Put an age limit of 25 or whatever.

If rape and murder is valid RP, so should suicide be. And lets not forget romeo and juliet!

HAHAHA! No, just making a point. If there is any sort of instant (or decently quick or irreversable) suicide method, I expect that we'll start seeing some people kill their characters after losing arguments with ingame trolls, stuff like that. (Hence the Rage Quit)

I am against this. (after much consideration and a long time of not posting in this topic)

The topic title, and suggestion itself, is a Suicide Mechanism (essentially), whether it is in the form of a Pill, button or otherwise.

So, I will emphasise what has (particularly from some staff) been said already:

We already have a suicide function. Send an email to PD. On my early 2005 - 2008 account, I role-played the death of a traveller who was with his 'girlfriend' and no hopes of escaping to a society. They knew they were going to die, so I began role-playing his heart-attack, emailed PD, and continued role-playing right up until his death.

They will respond.. and I think at most they'll take 2 days. (they may confirm if you want to do it, I'm not too sure).

Let's put our programming and resource staff to better use. There is already functionality for this suggestion. If you want suicide, use it, it's ready and available already.

That's exactly what PD doesn't do, or want to do, anymore. If you send a message to PD, asking for a char to be killed, you almost certainly will get a no. There are really more important things PD can spend its time on.

My point is entirely valueless then.

There is no reason why this shouldn't be implemented then. Other than closing the account and losing -all- characters, allow the player to kill the disliked character through suicide.

As mentioned earlier, lock it for 20 or 30 days. Make it a punishment for not bothering to play the character thru thick and thin.. otherwise there are people who would suicide in Burgeo, where population growth is needed most.

Well, the slot is blocked for 40 days anyway if the char dies below the age of 25.

it's unbelievable but I heard that there are players who don't use all their character slots. Blocking one of their slots wouldn't be a serious consequence for them

so I vote for age limitation
and I really don't want to see more people in their twenties die because of heart attacks. I hope there will be a more creative solution

I still believe people should play the characters they are dealt. Killing off everyone that is not super storng/expert fighter is the worst kind of role play I have ever experienced. If it continues, I suggest damage/dragging efficiency be made more random and strength/fighting skill invisible.
