Lost Fuel
My character is far away from home, and someone stole his fuel and left the vehicle, but someone passed by who was able to lend some fuel. They gave me 200 grams of alcohol, I stored it in the engine, and then the fuel disappeared. I'm traveling very slowly, 51% on the road going from Kwaki to Hilloi, on the vehicle "Siom Road Crew Van #1".

Re: Lost Fuel
According to this, it seems the last 24 grams of alcohol was used on 2941-4, although if you put 200 grams in the tank before leaving the previous location on 2939-4 and it was using at least 24 grams an hour, you would've run out a day earlier unless you stopped on the road or were driving more slowly at first. And 24 grams an hour sounds like a big number.

Re: Lost Fuel
I think vans need a lot more than 24 grams per hour. I think it was close to 50 last time I travelled in one. But it also depend on vehicle weight, right?

Re: Lost Fuel
Weight is irrelevant if I remember correctly, but alcohol is pretty ineffective on a weight base.

Re: Lost Fuel
So this (from wiki) doesn't apply?
fuelusage = engine * (vehicle_minimum + ((vehicle_maximum - vehicle_minimum) * (current_speed/maxspeed)**6))
fuelusage = engine * (vehicle_minimum + ((vehicle_maximum - vehicle_minimum) * (current_speed/maxspeed)**6))

Re: Lost Fuel
I always notice that it takes so much fuel to travel. I can hardly travel with a full tank for a while.
There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

Re: Lost Fuel
The 24 grams was just the last batch it used, it's likely that it was using more than that in an hour. But like I said, if it was using more than that then it should've run out in less than a day, not in two days.

Re: Lost Fuel
This fuel didn't even last ONE HOUR. Maybe the fact that I put the fuel in while the van was already traveling caused a glitch? But what can I do now? My character is doomed to fail?

Re: Lost Fuel
According to the db, the fuel didn't expire until the hour that I mentioned so maybe there's a bug in displaying the out of fuel message? I'm not seeing the event message for when you stored the fuel in the engine so it would make sense if it just deleted/misplaced the fuel then and didn't give an event message for storing it because it wasn't stored correctly, but why then would it say in the database that it expired on 2941-4? That doesn't make any sense at all, unless you did the refueling then and if you did, why wouldn't you do it right after leaving if you had the fuel then?

Re: Lost Fuel
Not putting it on right after leaving was a mistake, though that may not have made much difference. And you're right, the fuel did work, for four hours. This must be a long road. I'm 56% now.
