Re: cantr lands is too big for its playerbase.
The problem as I see it is that Cantr is hard to break into. If you don't have a stellar experience on the first two characters you make, who's going to stick around? Almost no one, and the odds of not having a stellar experience right off the bat are pretty high, unfortunately. People want instant gratification (just got a support email complaining that it had been a whole 10 hours since they sent in their application for approval), and instant gratification is very hard to find in Cantr.

My first char was nice, probably still my favorite. Wish it was more active, but I guess thats how things go.
The pace is definitely much slower than anything else I've played, even the live RTS's like Tribal Wars and StarKingdoms, where rounds of the game span months or years...

I, personally, stopped inviting people to Cantr because they share a similar mind thought to my own and that thought is very OBVIOUSLY counteractive to Cantr as a whole... at least on the forum.
Cantr isn't appealing because of its learning curve restrictive "rule set".
Write the "rule set" down and you'll keep more people around.. however you'll attract a lot of people "ya'll don't want".. the game will indeed be more active.
win/lose situation, oh well.

It's difficult, Dudel, because all the documentation is on the Wiki.. but hell, if I was new to this game, I sure wouldn't read it..
I still remember my first days in Olipifirovash, when I was a ripe 15 or 16 years old. I was in the computer labs at high school, asking my friend who played what I was supposed to do.
You say: "Hello? Anyone there? Anyone online???"
You say: "How the hell do I play this game? This is so stupid.."
Lol, I probably still have turn report emails.. I'm going to go check haha.

I would always direct people to the Wiki. ESPECIALLY that "first day in Cantr", page.
Another note is that I did read the Wiki, a good chunk of it not limited to specifics of items, like items/resources needed for projects, etc. When starting ANYTHING new, you read up on it... that's a Dudel rule.
Cantr's social standards, in game rules and world understandings are not written down ANYWHERE. The theme of the world isn't mentioned, the character limitations aren't mentioned, the games mechanical structure's are not mentioned... NOTHING is mentioned.
Cantr's rules are just that vague, horribly vague, horribly ever disgustingly vague, CRB. I have brought this up multiple times already. And the CR is only enforced, as it is now, more recently. According to records written down by Jos HIMSELF (I found a couple in "Stolen Notes") the CR was vague because it wasn't actually a rule... but a guideline. Once it was obvious players couldn't be trusted to not be shit-bricks, a line had to be made... but that line wasn't made clear in the sand. That line was just marked mentally and then it was expected that other people mind read. The CR is unforgiving to new players while anyone experienced with Cantr can not ONLY get away with cheating but can manipulate the CR, just enough, so that other people are targets instead.
As for the original topic: Yes, the world is to big. It would be even bigger if not multi-lingual as characters would be spaced out EVEN FURTHER.

Dudel,
Then write a guide. Anyone can edit the wiki. If it's free of sarcasm, I might even let it stay up.
And yes, this is me officially calling you out. If you don't write a guide, you have no right to complain from here on out (and don't use the "I don't have time excuse - none of us have time, that's why there's no guide).

But what if I don't like Cantr enough to care and would rather watch the white on my ceiling instead?
See, I've nothing but time... I just don't care... and I'm not the person saying "We need more players". I'm saying why Cantr can't KEEP its players.

If you don't care, then no one cares about what you have to say either. It's a two way street.

There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.
