BJDs are so prettyyyyy. And that one especially so! I spent a good hour looking through their gallery after you posted that.

Re: Character images
Interesting technique. Are there some photo elements incorporated?

Re: Character images
So I'm finally *just* about done with my first character image. I think I want to go back and change the lighting a bit to highlight her face a bit more. I'm not thrilled how the backlight is lighting her hair in a way that makes her ear look pointy - don't want anyone thinking she has elf ears or something. Also I want more of a matte look to her corset.

Re: Character images
I've been working in Poser 6 with postwork done in Photoshop.

Gorgeous!
I'd like to ask what technical tools are you using? Hand-drawn scans, or tablet, or mouse (
) or mix of several?

I've got a Wacom tablet that I adore for everything art related.
Poser is a world of fun to create images, at least once you get used to the interface. It can get expensive though!

Re: Character images
From what I've just read about it, Poser seems like a gift from heaven... but it's price is a bit ouchy. I wonder if I can find a demo/trial version or something...
(Edit: just found a free trial, or at least what they call a free trial
they can kiss my tail)

Re: Character images
It's well worth it, and you can probably find it somewhere out there.
I remember seeing a DL somewhere when I was looking for a keygen for something else. Can't remember what site for the life of me. I'll see if I can find it on my browser history when I get home tonight.
Be warned - it's a massive program, and even more so when you start adding more content. I store it and all related stuff on my external Tbyte drive. Even so a full render at about a 2500px can take around a half hour or so. Usually at that point I go do something else and check back later. Afterwards it's easy to save as a png and start your postwork on Photoshop

Hah, torrent is my uncle
I think I've found it, both 8 and Pro-2010 versions, although it will take ages at this speed ...
and the performance may be a problem
