Taking us farther and farther off topic.

The " please come back" post was intented to b written at the" hi, Im leaving" topic.

but there really would be no motivation for someone to smoke weed in the game... thats kind of lame actually lol... its just a computer.

Yeah, and sushi isn't? Or Spinach as a healing food??? Or attacking rabbits? or... Using stone)!!!) hammers and flying around in helicopters u mean?

Some players are kinda fond of "skooma". Not to be found in the game, but they seem to love it... Silly??? (this to bring us back ontopic, X-RPing.

I don't think there's a need to put these gamers all in one town, nor do I think in Cantr there should be one town dedicated to porn. Just have your characters handle it in game. Your character can move to another town, ask them nicely to be a little more respecful of others, if your char is mean, tell them to shut up... whatever works for your character in that situation, you should do. :D

Because there's laws...which brings up an interesting point...

incidentally, though you can build a helicopter engine, is it possible to build a helicopter yet?

and is it possible to put a helicopter engine in a car so it'll have more power? I'm guessing that it wouldn't be too hard to adapt...

I don't understand where there isn't enough role playing involved in game. I think our definitions of role playing are a little different.

There is one problem with role playing in the game and that is when the other player doesn't really role play. Its like trying to talk to someone that won't answer back and you have those awkard moments and thereafter you just completely shut up. I tend to stay away from those people, though would it be role playing if your character is the silent type and doesn't like social interaction? Very hard indeed to define role playing because there are so many different methods. I think a lot of methods collide in Cantr and thus was isn't role playing to one person is to another person.

I would have to disagree with the early comment that Cantr isn't the best role playin game. I know where you are coming from where there are a lot of characters that just get stuff to grow powerful and all but then again isn't that just a part of their character? If you are ambitious do you always have time for the social parts of life. I think Cantr is the best place to do role playing for the fact there is very little regulation other than the capital rule. Remeber what the 2nd edition AD&D use to say in the beginning of the rule book; it said that the first rule is that there are no rules and the game can be played without any rules (that changed when 3rd edition came out). If someone doesn't always play around role play in that you can say, "Oh there goes old Thomas, never says thing. Something weird about him."

I am also totally against having a location for "XRPing".

my definition of rping is acting like whatever charcter you are trying to rp and reacting to situations like them...another definition I would use would also be doing actions suitable for that character, emoting stuff, using * or :: to show how your feeling in a different more imaginitve way than I am feeling tired...just like life...nobody just talks, they wave there hands, yawn, scratch themselves, frown, smile, things like that...so for all of you non-rpers out there , maybe you should just try a little

I like to convey my actions through words. So, you're saying I'm not a rper. I say you're wrong. Just become someone doesn't use emotes doesn't make them a non-rper. Actually, I think a lot of the emoting people use get annoying at times and over excessive. But then again thats my opinion. I only use emotes unless totally necessary to convey a situation that cannot be done through words.

Though, I would support a emote system such as you click a button and it puts it up on the screen. Sort of how knocking works in a way. Put a bunch of action words next to characters such as kissing, hugging, patting on the back, etc. or furniture could work the same way. That would definitely add some depth to the game.

in emotes, I think it's pointless to say how the char is feeling, unless it is plainly obvious. I've seen many emotes that show things only the char emoting would know. IRL, you have to interpret whatever actions you see people doing to figure out how they are feeling.

I consider the events page like a script.

Normal text is talking.

** :::: is used this to indicate "stage directions" i.e. actions not thoughts

*as he slowly types*

However people who do put their chacters thoughts out there are acting as a narrator. That information is like ooc right?

I don't self narrate if I can help it. But I don't consider people who do constantly any worse than seeing ooc marked stuff that is not capital rule bending.

::thinks about the far off economic crises looming due to the numerical peaks at the high end of the age population curb and issues that wil come into play when this combines with the large national debt and strained energy supplies::

I have not read the whole forum as I am currently using a libary computer with few mins left as my comp has some new virus that some intelligant madman, with a computer and the internet that has not found cantr (and thus has nothing better to do), has decided to infect the windows update system with (again) but I should be up and running again by the end of the weekend!

Anyway enough of my life story, I disagree with this as the whole of cantr should be/is an extreame roleplaying world!!

Moved to Rejected. I never liked this idea and if it hasn't happened yet I don't think it is going to ever happen.
