Re: Towns dying out after conflict??
I had my character bring news to Kwor about 2 murders roaming the island and kill of Norfields e.g.. Everbody told me to go to Kwor for this, because "they have the ressources". Nobody there cared, it was very depressing.

Lack of ingame empathy is just as depressing as newspawns lack of self-preservation.

How are Plaekur, Plaekur Hills, Plaekur Forest West, Djorf Hills North and Seatown Hills doing after the Emerald Conflict?

Kwor might have the resources but they're all locked up in buildings and no one knows where the keys are.

AJS does indeed seem like it might be suffering after the Vel'Noran confilct... lots of sleepers!
Something witty and humerous that some people won't get....

Between the MacGregors slaughtering Kriff and Kendra Black slaughtering every form of life in DHN and another DH, how could the region be anything other than dead? There's still bodies stacked like cordwood in the DHN lighthouse. When one of my characters last went through there, it was completely deserted, except for a note on the ground that said everyone was locked inside for their own protection, and that visitors could be killed without warning (or something to that affect). Needless to say, I split quickly.

PFW is thriving, other than that, I don't know.

Really? What did I miss out on? Jessa would be rolling her her tomb if she knew the direction the Clan took.

Re: Towns dying out after conflict??
The MacGregors caught an official of Kriff breaking locks in a MacGregor town that had been wiped out in an attack. It was never established who did the killing, but I don't think Nick was interested in the real story. They came down and killed the elders in Kriff and anyone that fought back, then made some claim of self-defense. If the Emeralds hadn't struck, and the MacGregors hadn't left Treefeather, I think war between the Clan and what was left of the Union would have been inevitable, at least with Nick in charge. At least, my character was expecting war.

Re: Towns dying out after conflict??
Amazing. I love this stuff, I can't find a good solid discussion of historical events posted anytime recent.
In regards to Christine leaving Kwor, I'm lucky enough to be one of the few characters with her on the new island. I believe we are alone when it comes to English-speakers which is very exciting.
Also, I made a thread a while back about creating a character based on your own personality, who got 'dropped' into the Cantr world. I did this around Christine's character - perfect location, too!! I've now toned down his fear and confusion and he's another generic man in his twenties now. (purely because it's very hard to role-play like that and you quickly run out of material for rp)
I love listening to Christine's stories, as does my character.
As for the Sjoftich Hills North issue, the later part of it is ongoing and I'll post details of it very soo, once it's over and 4 days has passed. It's quite exciting. I guess I can comment on the history a little, though..
An elite warrior and his followers/friends (who I'll keep anonymous for now) decided to settle in SHn after years of fighting a particular group (the DoUrden's). In fact he was involved with Adam, if that rings a bell with anyone. This warrior has broken out of rooms in prisons, kidnapped entire towns almost single-handedly and is generally over-powered.
Anyway, as I said he and others settled in SHn. It is -believed- that DoUrdens sent spies, one slipt through the Warrior's fingers and huuuge tensions mounted between DoUrden and the Warrior group in SHn (not necessarily the town).
It was later discovered that there are two seperate factions of DoUrdens, both not completely aware of each other. One group wanted the Warrior dead, the other didn't. The group that wanted the Warrior dead also had the Warrior's lover.
So, near the peak of tensions, SHn detained the Warrior and some of his group, in order to keep the town safe from a war. However the Warrior got out (as you can imagine) and after minimal bloodshed (one DoUrden died), a resolution was sought, and the Warrior's lover was returned.
After spending significant time recruiting, the Warrior now has a significant force, some of the soldiers are extremely strong.. almost equal to the Warrior. And very, very active.
That's as much as I can give now I think.. the juicy part is coming up.

The Northern Hawks were foolish to think they could assert their authority as far as they did. Both the Emeralds and the Macgreggors had the power to hit em hard and the fact that they were fighting two conflicts at once was just dumb.

I don't even know who the Northern Hawks are, and it would seem that my character died for their actions.

Jacob of DHN.
He responded with a few others to a distress call from PFE. When they killed the guy they found there over his protests, he walked home. Took him a ridiculously long time, so there was maybe a 40 day period where he was out of contact entirely with the world. Killed in his shop when the Boogieman (Kendra) walked in his front door and stuck an axe in him.
