Baskets

Postby diurnal_lee » Tue Mar 23, 2010 2:25 pm

I'd like to be able to make containers out of reeds and/or grass.

Sounds like a good idea, even though I don't have any characters in places with reed. Grass baskets I would make, though.

I like this idea too, makes plenty of sense as well. Holdable containers are spiffy, and so is woven baskets.

This is the most insidious suggestion to ever come across the forums. The damage that this will do to Cantr's social fabric, much less economy, is staggering. Baskets can be role-played adequately enough that throwing the whole system into disarray is plain dumb. Really, what will happen if everyone starts carrying baskets? The consequences are too harsh to even contemplate...in fact, if this gets implemented, I'm going to quit! Yes, you heard me, I'm going to quit.

This is sarcasm.

I'm ever so slightly confused at Doug's post, he said it was sarcasm but I dont really understand why he decided to be... im guessing he is making a point mimicking if not exaggerating the standard response to any suggestion but im still confused :?

Hrm. My sister took Basketweaving as a university credit course, so it's possible that baskets are too advanced a tech for Cantr. :D

By that logic, English is too advanced.

Baskets are too powerful and you should only be able to weave one basket a year. Cantr is supposed to be a slow-paced game. It's unbalancing things too much to add this now.

It's easy for you to come up with these crazy ideas, but we players have to live with it and the other day a bunch of miscreants in a sloop came to my town and killed a lot of established characters before anyone could even react, without any RP at all, and then the hypocrites RPed putting all the dead heads of good characters into baskets.

I fail to see how baskets got your town killed...

Perhaps they played a match of ceremonial basketball and the winners were decapitated?
