Do we really want Cantr to be directly gruesome?

You expertly kill a badger using a bone spear.

You expertly kill a moose using a bone spear.

You expertly hurt a sheep using a bone spear, which loses 24 strength.

You expertly kill a raccoon using a bone spear.

You expertly hurt a wild boar using a bone spear, which loses 20 strength.

You expertly hurt a hawk using a bone spear, which loses 25 strength.

You expertly kill a deer using a bone spear.

You expertly kill a cow using a bone spear.

You expertly kill a horse using a bone spear.

My question is this, a man with a spear brutally stabbing to death, or maiming/injuring various animals, including a cute little raccoon, an innocent deer, and that poor sheep who I honestly believe was abused by a certain town person does not already make this game gruesome?

Due to the lack of gruesome details, I don't think it counts as directly gruesome. It doesn't say, for example:
You expertly stab a sheep in the heart.
You expertly cut off the head of a man in his twenties.
You added 1 leg to the project burn human.

That was so awesome, you deserve 100+ rep for that!

On the other hand, my suggestion was no more gruesome than hunting, it could simply state
You pull the leg from the rotting bloody corpse, gagging as the scent of horrid decay....err

Wrong phrase, I swear!

Heres the right one :)
You add <person> to <project>. The screams of <person> haunt you for eternity, but you rest at night knowing you have done the world a favor by going green....

Okay...maybe I shouldn't ever be allowed to create the messages for events....

*cough="off topic"*;

So...this fuel stuff. I still have to do some more calculations before I know what the most efficient method for making/burning fuel is.

Petrol, as oil is the most rare of the useable resources, followed by propane, which is the second rarest. Alcohol is the least effective, since it is obtainable practically everywhere, and biodiesel is closer to propane as it is more demanding.

Be welcome to do your own calculations though. I'm curious for the result.

Depending on production values and time taken to collect resources/build required machinery, it could be a toss up.

IMO each one is just as efficient as the other depending on your location, resources and ability to manufacture. Unless of course you are talking about a full tank fuel cycle?

It may very well be worth the travel time to get oil or gas.

I did some calculations about a week ago, and based on my sketchy memory I found you could get about 50g of alcohol from potatoes per day of labor assuming an overstock of potatoes (no gather time) and over 500 g per day of labor for petrol, including gather time with a derrick. That's a significant difference. Bio diesel and propane were worth it if you have the resources available, but I can't remember the numbers for them at all.

This sounds about right. A day of work should give you ~80g of propane, which equals 160g of petrol, and biodiesel should yield ~100g, not taking meat into account.

I would like to see an electric option for vehicles, something like copper and zinc, or salt and water. You have to put these materials in the tank (creating a battery or sorts) and its depleted at a similar rate to other fuels. Of course I guess people would want to see motors instead of engines installed...

Did anyone every think that the fact that we have oil and coal means that there was a prehistoric Cantr? and that this would possibly imply that these fossil fuels might of come from cantr dinosaurs? lol

Coal and oil were buried by God himself, just like in real life.

Electric cars are a bit problematic as, at least in real life, none of them are powered by a classical, non-rechargeable, copper an zinc battery, but with rechargeable accumulators instead. Creating energy by means of a battery is a thousand times more expensive than the available alternatives, so cars usually just store cheap energy from somewhere else. Cantr won't be ever completely realistic of course, but full grown cars that are powered like duracell bunnies would seem odd to say the least.

Well I wasn't going for the whole RL aspect, more the alternate fuel idea, wouldn't be the cheapest way but would provide an option for those stranded (especially you mountain hiking folks)

Here's an idea...

The car would just take some wood and stone (or timber or something, I'm not exactly sure). I could best explain this with a picture, so here goes...

Anyways, best thing of all is that the car doesn't need its own power source (Well, sort of, if you count the cantrians themselves)...

Cheers
