BEING able to see if person is carrying anything or not

Postby Appleide » Thu May 27, 2004 6:21 am

Say you got a police and you have to see a suspect if he is carrying something, it 'd be great.

it would look like this: The man in his twenties seem to be carrying an object

I also would like to have pointless actions that do nothing except letting the other player know what your character feels, like kiss, hug, rude sign, smile face, cry, tears, throw potato on ground, lose temper.

As for seeing objects, I really have no comment on that. It would be interesting, but some people would perfer the "hidden" side of things, where people don't know what they have except if they tell. Although, true, if an object is too big, you can't hide it, but this is Cantr :P

Now, for the mundane actions - No way. Cantr is for Role Playing, if you need to do an action like that, you should act it out, not press a button. That would just demean the whole point of being a society simulator if everything is done by the press of a button.

I agree with Anthony, and probably wouldn't like seeing anymore than I am now. It ruins surprise, and a sense of privacy.

*takes a chisel and pokes Anthony in the knee* You ought roleplay....

Well considering that you ARE naked when you start off, it's kind of wierd that you can't see what they're carrying. The element of suprise that is presented in the game right now is still pretty usefull but makes no sense. I mean where on you exactly is your inventory anyway? This has been mentioned before but I still think that a sword or somthing big shouldn't be able to be hidden. It's not like a sabre can be concealed on a naked body. Perhaps if the person had clothing of some sort, then maybe some thing could be hidden. Such as a sabre under your cloak or somthing.

Might I point out the game doesn't say you're naked? It says "They wear nothing worth mentioning." - Some people see this as being naked, like you do and I do, others see this as wearing bad clothing. In any case, depending on which is used, the sabre could be hidden.

But that doesn't matter :P

A really important addition I think would be to make shields work somewhat like clothing where you would have to equip them for them to function and then they would show up in your character description. How can you block surprise attacks if your shield isn't out where people can see it?
This change would also directly allow for the creation of wearable armor.

What if you could see larger objects like sabers or any resource over 1000 grams, while you are wearing "Nothing of interest" but then you can conceal certain things by wearing different clothes. Like a fur cloak could conceal a saber. Clothes could also have pockets that you can store things in and no one could see them.

This would allow for different kinds of clothes, being different in how much stuff it can conceal

That's an awsome idea!
There could be chain mail, splint mail, breast plates, leather armour, studded leather armour and others. might need some machines for these also. Then we can have REAL knights.

It may or may not happen, it all depends later.
