Lockable Gastanks

Postby tazer » Sun Jan 24, 2010 9:24 pm

Simply gastanks need to be made lockable. If you are for example transporting a criminal or kidnapping someone they can just take out the fuel...

Hahaha! Need to remember that for the case I'm kipnapped. I do see your point :)

I wouldn't make them explicitly lockable, but if the vehicle is locked you should only be able to take gas if you have the key.

Maybe you shouldn't be able to remove gas without the proper tools period?

You mean, like two feet of flexible tube and a Tic Tac?

I think what catpurr said sounds pretty reasonable. You can remove something from the tank, but only if you have the key to the car. Shouldn't be too hard to program, too.

Let's bring this back up.

Here is my simple suggestion.

- IF the vehicle has a vehicle lock, the engine fuel can only be touched by the person with the key. (Error: You do not have the vehicle key to access the fuel)

- IF it is unlocked, the fuel can be taken/added to by anyone.

- If it is lockless, the fuel can be taken/added to by anyone.

That saves the Cantr world from more suffering of adding even MORE resources to their already-resource-hungry vehicles.

Can we move this to accepted suggestions if there are no objections?

As far as I know it was said there is no need for such feature.

What if you want to put someone who is going to try and steal your fuel and slow you down on board like a criminal or a kidnapping :P

I can't exactly remember what was said in detail, but I think a lock would only then be unnecessary if only fuel could be put in a tank, so that fuel removal could be disabled altoghether.

In any case, would this feature be hard to program?
