Sell all your alarmclocks and hire someone to run through your house screaming.

The only problem with that is, what if the person falls asleep? Then you've sold all of your alarm clocks, so there isn't one to wake him/her up, and then you're all late anyway. :-D

Well to start off with I am the lightest sleeper besides my daughter and she is 9.
If I don't hear the alarms going off then everyone in the house is late.! My son has an alarm clock. Well to start off he has 6 alarms on his phone alone and an actual clock alarm that won't wake him up.

Then in my room I have an alarm clock, and two cell phones with 3 alarms on them each so that is 6 alarms going off in the morning and it still won't wake me. And it doesn't matter what time I go to bed either. It really sucks!

I wish I had that problem..

Every night before I fall asleep I have to check the clock to make sure it works and is set just right, and on top of that I wake up early to make sure my alarm clock is working.

I have two alarm clocks - an alarm clock and my phone, each set to go off within five minutes of one another. I also tend to wake up a few minutes before either one goes off, simply because I don't trust phones and my other alarm clock is also a dodgy piece of crap. Heck, if it's a day I can't afford to miss, one that's been stressing me out, I'll wake myself up every hour on the hour like clockwork, roll over, count how many minutes I have left to sleep, then doze back off.

I have three alarms, one that has a lamp go on gradually and then it beeps when it's fully illuminated, I usually don't remember hearing that. Then there's one regular alarm clock and my cell phone alarm. Currently the cell phone alarm is 5 minutes before the bus leaves, I just came to notice that it's enough if I get dressed after the second alarm and just put my outdoors clothes on when it rings, but if I only start dressing up completely when that goes off, it's not enough.

The most effective way to wake me up is turning on a light, but it instantly pisses me off and puts me in a bad mood most of the day.

I ended up finding an alarm sound clip and then setting a scheduled task to loop it every morning until I close the program. I can turn my speakers up much louder than an alarm clock, and the concentration required to type in a password to close it is more effective at waking me up than reaching over and pressing a button.

You bastard. You know, I was wondering earlier today (before I saw this thread) how people managed to keep to regular schedules before alarm clocks were invented. It must be people like you who were successful in business then.

Psychologically if you think hard enough about waking up at a certain time or about your alarm clock set for a certain time to go of you SHOULD be able to wake up before this time.

I've done this a few times myself but it takes a lot of effort and can cause a lacking in sleep as you've to SERIOUSLY think about waking up before you even rest your head on the pillow.
