Sneezing?
I am just curious, what is the point of the sneezing tick? I mean, I have never seen so many people all around sneeze at the same time...a yawn tick would have made more sense. And the Sneezing doesn't seem to play a role unless I'm mistaken

There is no point. Whatever purpose sneezing served when it was implemented has failed (unless it was purely an experiment in epidemiology that had no bearing on the game). If I had my way, I'd eliminate sneezing, or at least change it significantly if I was allowed to know how it works.
Feeling faint is a successful disease - the cause is generally well known, and even though there's no known cure, you can wait it out once the cause is eliminated. Sneezing has no known cause, no known cure, happens too infrequently to be able to tell if you're over it or not, is extremely contagious, and is mostly irrelevant in terms of symptoms, i.e. its meaningless, and nearly every town has it. It should be removed or changed.

Me too, I was almost sure that was the reason, or at least one of them.

I see sneezing as a "Shit happens" type of Cantr event.
Think it would be a bit more worth if it happened less scheduled or more random and everyone didn't sneeze at the same time. Basically a "sometimes people sneeze" type of deal as it's described in character 90% of the time but less "sneeze time now".

Well, if that's the case, I don't think it works anymore. When I see sneezes, I just log right back out thinking "damn, only sneezes."

Unfortunately, the mechanics don't allow for the discovery of cures in a natural way, if there are any (and I'm not convinced that there are any, since you can't eat except on the eating tick unless you're wounded). The only option left to people is to say "I'm going to make every consumable resource in the game and see if it cures sneezes," and then have to deal with not knowing if it worked or not, since sneezes don't happen every tick and leave no visible symptoms (unlike feeling faint, which you can see in your character description).
The natural way - discovering cures by accident, could never happen in Cantr.
That said, it's patently unfair to make any Cantrian disease too serious.

Ideally, there should be some message when you eat a 'cure' that says "you no longer have such and such." Characters do recover from sneezing and feeling faint on their own, so it's hard to tell if eating certain food is really the reason for feeling better.
And I agree that fatal diseases would suck. Unless the cure were something easily obtained and there was plenty of time for the ill char to get the materials. I wouldn't be against more debilitating illnesses, IF it were possible to discover a definite cure.
