Er... no... Dudel is annoying to people who say stupid things or who wish to alter game mechanics in their favor while not truly addressing a problem or situation that needs fixing.
The limestone thing was bad form but living in a swamp area... you don't build things out of sandstone, limestone, etc. as it causes problems. However, in Cantr such things are irrelevant. It could be a snowy mountain with people live in mud while running around naked and no one would be the wiser.
But again, again, it doesn't really matter as a majority of building materials are ignored in favor of wood and stone, as is. In fact there are already laws in most places that have mud etc which state "Don't build things here". I can only see this as being beneficiary to locations that shouldn't support life, anyway... and building out of limestone shouldn't take that much more or less then stone stone. Just sounds like a waste of staff energy, to me.

And because Dudel doesn't want it implemented, he is going to be annoying and say factually incorrect things?
Also, you are saying that the only reason this idea was suggested, was to favour the player/character posting it?? That's a bit presumptuous.

You know very close to nothing as usual. Yet you try to make it sound like you know everything. It's rather pathetic.
Come on now, own up, and say "I was wrong". Pretty please?
It seems to me you're trying to turn everything to be about some goddam swamp you lurk in, instead of limestone buildings. You are and were wrong, own up!
Try it, it doesn't hurt. "I .... was .... wrong". Just do it, and be over with it. I know it can be a scary step, but sometime you'll have to do it for the first time. Adult life will be a problem (if you ever leave the swamp, and childhood) if you can't own up you know.

This last post was was absolutely unecessary and more than childish, EchoMan. Is it really that important to you who's right?
Anyway, I still don't see how limestone buildings would advance the game. Stone is pretty common and if you want to have shiny, white buildings, look for marble.

I'm growing tired having Dudel saying whatever come to his mind and passing it along for truth. Especially when it comes to my reasons for doing things which he knows less than usual about, i.e. nothing. It's not important to me who is right, only that Dudel is wrong but refuse to acknowledge that fact.
On topic:
So what advances the game forward? 200 new items of clothing? 100 more food items noone has ever heard about? It's just adding to realism if you can use the resources around you for things they have been used for in real life for thousands of years.

Yes, the problem is though that "limestone" was apparently designed as something rather different, much more resembling chalk. The ability to gather it with a shovel does indeed promote the image of a rather brittle substance and the fact that you don't have to crush it before you put it in a furnace substantiates this view a little more. I'm not saying that either view is right or wrong, but there are certainly conflicting views about what Cantrian limestone is like.
As a sort of a compromise, what would you think of utilizing limestone as a building material in the form of concrete?

I always thought of limestone being gathered in powder/sand form (showels, use, elc) or at least as some very small pieces. I don't have anything in particular against this idea, just... do we really need it? Will people use it when there are so many other options around, and I bet they'd rather stick the limestone in a furnace than build houses of it.
And... aren't there any more important things to do?

I agree limestone can be used to build. And I don't know where people get the idea that it's brittle. Limestone is a pretty solid rock unlike Sandstone.
So I don't see why we can't use it...we have marble for building, why not use limestone too?
