Thats it really. Single individuals, or pairs seem to be able to destroy whole cities using dragging and crossbows. Its mentally very hard to even conceive or imagine, and terrible for the supposed society simulator/roleplaying nature of the game.
Looking myself, foward to a day when sole angry people dont ruin years of built up society and roleplaying in a click or two.
Thoughts?

^Its takes two or three people to kill and one, two or three to drag someone. If it was increased to a flat three, or four, it would still be entirely doable given populations, but not so easy that a pair of angry miscreants can destroy years of roleplay in a second at least without some planning or proper work..
Ive seen a whole towns killed by two people several times over (several towns, some heavily armed and organised). Harry blackrock killed heaps of people with dragging as a single person!. Is it overly easy.....? Yes dudel, it is. At the very least dragging is set too easy. (That seems to be the way, most kidnapping/murder and society killing occurs).
It should take more than two people to destroy an entire town, no?
Can you imagine two people killing one dozen, by dragging and running in and out of buildings? Its downright silly, let alone bad for what other players are trying to get out of the game...

And IRL killing is too easy so lets lobotomize all the toddlers before they realize how to use a pistol.
Harry grabbed weaker then average awkward fighters. That's like picking on puppies and being The Incredible Hulk... not to mention grabbing people who were minding their own business and/or unaware of what's going on.
The ONLY problem with dragging is it doesn't tire people fast enough.
While, I've said it before, I don't agree with the player's behavior/tactics it's a part of Cantr that is NEEDED. Cantr is a boring shit-hole otherwise. People can't even take verbal conflict without throwing up the CRB flag and saying "swearing isn't allowed" or that having a dog tale is a CRB. REALLY... an irritation. The PLAYER(s) doesn't play fair, the game mechanics are not to blame.
Doesn't matter, this has all been suggested and rejected before. When players loose characters they forum complain, it's a fact of Cantr. Now shhh!

^ yes but the whole cantr combat system favours stealth over straight fighting. I mean sometimes a person can take a whole town in their sleep. But in cantr, thats the normal way of doing battle!
Oh that quote was meant for the previous post, not dudels. PS ive had no characters lost, not ever in the whole time ive played. Just busy, cultural, thriving roleplaying towns, with real history and personal connections destroyed by young angry characters with no depth of RP or planning or thought. Its happened maybe to three or four really great towns ive been involved in, and every time its no more than two really dumb characters with a problem.
I went after some crims recently. Funny thing was, we used the same, hide and move on ticks strategy that an assasin or some other theif or criminal type character would use. Cantr favours criminals, theives, dragging and stealth combat far more than RL. And that wouldnt be a problem except that more than half of the players in cantr, dont play for hack and slash, stealth, theft or deviancy - they play for RP and group interaction..

Why do I get the feeling you just lost a char that way?

Hardly. A lot has been put in place to prevent stealth over straight fighting, including huge tiredness losses of 15% if you strike someone, and only one hit a day. Compared to other online persistant-world text-based games, this one is quite fair. Not everyone is from the same timezone and not everyone has the same lifestyle (school, uni, work, not working) and thus are on at different times. If it's a good town, and is simulating a society well, then it will be alert, prepared and ready for a pirate or bandit attack. And surely, surely, someone would check their character's often enough in sequence with other players checking THEIR characters as to prevent or lessen the risk of a bandit attack.

^ I have a character who lived in the nicest community. Two people killed the leader in one hit, dragged everyone else into buildings using the keys dropped and the whole things took a few minutes at most to kill a whole town and trap the rest. Thats your standard recipe for taking a town.
So you expect every town to be awake every minute of every day?!!
*shakes his head*
And when I recently chased this criminal, the only way to face his being in buildings and coming out on ticks, was to do the same.
Open combat in cantr is simply not smart, and the whole situation favours the hack and slashers over the community RPers.
Forget what happens in other text based games, this is cantr. Its a wholly different beast. Again, most people dont play combat, theft or the usual psychological venting related game. They RP mostly, vastly interesting rich characters.. A shiny star of brilliance next to most online games.

I could probably find my own thread similar to this because I also got annoyed when one of my own charries was massacred. It's not nice but such is cantr.
