Seeing people on road

Postby Snake_byte » Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:36 am

What if, the message on the character description page about the person traveling, was displayed on the events page -as well-?

It could show: who you see, what vehicle they're in, what direction they're going, their position in proximity to yours, their speed in comparison to yours - once every travel tick.

People could then stand just outside towns or with check points along half road and easily monitor and defend towns and even deny access before anyone even enters.

I think something like this was suggested with binoculars or spy glasses. To let you use it to look down the road.

I like your suggestion a little better since if the roads curve you wouldn't see anyone beyond that. With yours, it would make it more of a job than just a task.

Exactly, like road sentries.

Edit: People showing up on the road should also be displayed. (for instance when someone follows you out, behind you)

As well as leaving the road. (when someone reaches the destination at the end and you can see them, walking behind them.)

Well, unless im wrong the suggestion is to give a event events page whenever your character can see someone new on the road like they would anyway if you clicked the people page.

I'm for this, it's way to easy to "sneak" past someone if you don't say anything on the road and they don't look at the people page at the right time. I like it, it's not giving any new information because you could look to people page anyway but it makes it easier to play.

Prehaps it could give a event when people turn around as well?

Actually, it's to give an event of everyone you can see on the road, new or not, and their direction in comparison to yours, every travel tick.

*Travel tick happens*

You see a man in his twenties, ahead of you facing the opposite direction you are going.

You see a woman in her twenties, beside you, facing the same direction you are going.

-You would see the woman each tick if neither of you outrun each other.

I Thought there already was one... If there isn't, then definitely.

Limiting it to new and turning would probably keep the events page cleaner. Maybe speed changed as well

There is no clutter when traveling except:

You have eaten Xg of your food -
or
You are hungry.

So speed change too?
"You see a man in his twenties, ahead of you facing the opposite direction you are going, speed up/slow down".

and for vehicles

"You see a man in his twenties, ahead of you facing the opposite direction you are going, speed up/slow down". (Van -Name here-)

I actually noticed someone and did a small test mentioning his status: Wouldn't you know it, he answered me...

2838-6.12: You say: "*clears his throat* Oh sorry, I was just talking out loud. I'm NAME_EDIT"

2838-6.11: a man in his twenties says: "Hello. *he nods* I am NAME_EDIT."

2838-6.10: You say: "He is travelling in direction north. He is travelling faster than you, ahead of you, facing the opposite direction you are going. "

2837-6.15: You ate 25 grams of your cooked meat.

2836-6.16: You ate 25 grams of your cooked meat.
