Moveable Crates

Postby Idriveayugo » Wed Dec 30, 2009 1:31 pm

Allow a person to put tools, resources, or whatever they want into moveable crates.

We could have small crates that weigh 500 grams and hold up to 10,000 grams of junk, as well as large crates that require a wheel barrow (or dolly if you wanna make one) that can hold as much as 50,000 grams of junk.

This allows people to reorganize things without having to make 1,000 clicks.

It would be great if we could add locks to crates also.
But I don't know if it's possible

Because those mailboxes and dresser drawers don't actually protect their contents... It was never implemented. I'm not sure what makes it so difficult.

It could be because for locks, as they are, you need to be in the actual location you want to build them...
We can't squeeze into mailboxes and containers
I never tested them so thought they were functional, seeing as they were in there.
Maybe those projects don't include the lock when build, like buildings.
If that's the case then the containers would need to come with a lock already attached and produce a key when it's done without the second separate project for a lock...

As far as I know lockable containers have indeed not yet been implemented. There are plans for movable furniture, but we still have to discuss the details.

Umm... what's a small wooden cart if it's not a moveable crate... admittedly it can't go into buildings... so what about locks on wheelbarrows as these now can, I believe, enter buildings.

Though I think weapons should be able to go in barrels and crates too... as well as the containers being movable.

Wheelbarrows only help you drag larger quantities of material. You don't put anything actually in it.

Wheelbarrows are tools, just like a hammer or a screwdriver, so they've always been able to enter buildings.

I don't think so, but we might change that.

Hey, would there be any way to attach tags to crates and the like? Some kind of little sign for you to write whatever is stored inside?
