I was just wondering, I didn't see anything in the rules about a character having to be a human. Is it possible to play as a pet dog or something? lol I know this sounds wierd, and I probably wouldn't do it if I could, but just wondering?

Things like this are being played.
Not that good.

I think the general understanding is that everyone is humanoid (Explains the Man and woman part) But to say that they can't suffer from some issue that makes them think they are a dog, and act like a dog, would be limiting RP and then that's no fun.

Ok, but they can't actually be one then?

Can't actually be one, no - but you can THINK you are.

Exactly....See the way the game is set up, If my char see's your char, he'll see *A man/woman in his/her twenties* Not a dog or cat....but once my char gets to know yours, he'd see a person who thinks they are an animal. It's been done many times before, and it can still be lots of fun

You can role play a person with a mental disorder who THINKS and acts like a dog, without really being a dog. It's what makes this game that much better than other RP games that limit what you can do.

That's rather limiting, can't actually be the dog. :p

HOWEVER, you could technically play someone with "dog features" if you didn't get/go crazy with it.

Something I've said so many times, "If you do it with a light touch, not only will people play along but they will not realize they are doing as such."

Yup, it's all about those little hints that come together to make a big picture later on.

Some people have played a dog in the past but it's generally frowned upon. But having a character who acts like a dog yet has the body of a human is okay and fun.

I honestly think I could get away with having a character with a dog tail, ears and nose... provided I kept the character mostly human and didn't play off the "He's a dog" thing too much.

The tail would be the only "difficult part" for some people, I suspect.

There's a guy playing a bear in the Spanish language area.
