Faster water production

Postby Pyroman » Wed Dec 16, 2009 3:11 pm

Production of water is slowly going to be a problem becouse more and more projects needs it. In approaching era of fuel consumption problem will be more noticeable, becouse production of fuel (alcohol and biodiesel) needs a lot of water and water production will be insufficient. Now few big cities need sometimes 2-4 people to produce water all the time, in future problem will be only bigger. The best way to solve this problem is double or triple the water production per day for projects or make new machines which will produce water more efficiently.

Fuel production is redesigned to reduce the dependency on water. We're well aware of the problem.

implementing noria?
(as a automatic pump water machine)

Good idea, but there are no "streams" or running water in Cantr, right?

¿de donde sale el agua que se coge con un odre o con una cubeta donde no hay pozo o bomba de agua?

Edited by Joshuamonkey so the quote would work. Don't forget the quotation marks! :)

I always assumed ground water or puddles of water.

Officially it's "spring water".

The problem with water is not that we don't know how to make it faster or which machines could do it, but that too many things depend on water and changing the gathering rates would drasticale changy Cantrian economy.

If water requirements on all existing projects were multiplied by the same number that water collection rates were multiplied by, that would make everything stay in balance. Except for the gap between different methods of gathering.

I thought about that, but, apart from a more realistic feel, all this would accomplish is that water would be harder to transport and gathered water would loose much of its value.

It would be easy enough, but I don't know if it's sensible.

I think water should be more difficult to transport. It's a liquid, after all. And if all projects were multiplied with the same number, the weights of all piles could also be multiplied by that number.

Ah, right, I keep forgetting that such things are an option. Water being a liquid is a whole another issue though. A consistent system applying to propane, broth and so on, could be implemented some day.

What if we put noria only in certain towns? Perhaps in certain types of towns (like mountains vs plains).

I don't think that any are type implies rivers more than anyone else, but I would like to increase water production around lakes.

If you multiply the whole equation by the same number, nothing changes. In this case, scaling up everything will not eliminate the stated problem. Nor would it if the intent was to add new projects with greatly reduced water requirements. Pyroman has stated that the system is already stressed, so you'd still be increasing demand on a stressed system for every new project you add.
