Anyway, assuming you could make it work, I think it would be interesting if there were buildings already in the area, perhaps with unique descriptions. Perhaps pyramids and old tombs and stuff, implying there was another ancient civilization there before the Cantrians.
Just an idea though, I thought it would make the area a bit more appealing and interesting ._.
I'm definitely against this. It goes against what Cantr's about. We'll make our own backstory soon enough. I wouldn't mind using towns abandoned by other past characters, however, but I don't think this applies to any super isolated place, obviously.
You can ignore this:
What if the veteran/staff only area was the latin language group? Let's all speak Latin (or more like, let's have a Latin interface and speak English)! Most of our languages are based off of it, anyway.
I like the staff idea, though I might be biased. However, it'll be staff that will be setting all this up (

), and like Doug R. said, it would motivate others to become staff. Veteran would allow more people though, and what would happen if someone was no longer part of staff? Or joined staff just to be part of it? So I like the idea, but I vote veteran.
Edit: Wow, I argue with myself.
