Bondage Objects
My friends, America was build on the corpses of slaves. I think we should have an ability to keep slaves ingame, and thus we need chains of iron. There could be leg cuffs that only slow down movement, and longer chains to tie down people and prevent them from leaving at all. (Gotta go now, don't get too provoked

Well for those of us that live in a country where slavery wasn't an issue, we might not like it. I know i don't anyway. You can always make someone your slave under threat of death. If you're not powerful enough to do that, then tough.
However I do like the idea of shackels. That way you can attach them to a buildings wall and make it a more effective prison.

Yes, but currently it is too easy for someone to simply just walk away and then the only way to get them to return is through death or convincing. I think it would be interesting to have methods to hamper someones abilities for imprisonment purposes. It seems strange that slavery is so under represenented in a society simulation as it was a major force of industry, business, war and politics for the last several thousand years in many cultures.

it's to easy just to have the character killed off.
Some people don't know how to RP someone imprisoned.

Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

I think it was mentioned before about penalties for a death of a character. I always favored a waiting period until you can start your next character. This would especialy be useful against those suicidal newspawns. Of course you can't make the penalty so severe that someone would rather unsubcribe then wait it out. I think 20 days is sufficient if sombody losses more than 1 chatacter in that time then they really have a knack for pissing people off.
edit: This could also help out that phycic thing. If you just leave the character in the database for 20 days, but disable all talking and movement then the name could still be seen and I suppose (not sure how the game is programmed) then the player couldn't still make another character because they would still have 15 counting the dead one. Then after 20 days the character can be removed from the database. Hopefuly I made that clear enough.

enslavement is not all too hard, and can be very realistic.
obviously you must lock the door the slave(s) are in so they cannot escape. never give acess to supplies they can use against you and if they refuse to hand over the projects you made them work on, then kill them as you will. you would obviously be equipped with iron shield so thier feable punches wouldn't hurt you, you obviously wouldn't try to enslave someone with a weapon that could hurt you.
of course without shackles you couldn't have outdoor slaves. only paid workers outdoors, either that or 5 very active players with crossbows to kill anyone who dares to leave town.
.......(why am i giving everyone ideas for slaves, i am part black, live in north america)....
