Blocked machines

Postby Surly » Thu Nov 26, 2009 9:01 pm

What's the current ProgD policy regarding unblocking machines?

I messaged ProgD through the staff contact form in game. I'd appreciate knowing if that was received, although I can send the information again if necessary.

At least it's not showing up in my inbox... I think PD has some tool that allows deleting projects even if they block machinery, but if you want the resources back then it's more difficult. I'm not sure about the official policies. If a project is recent then I'm ready to give back the resources in pretty much any case. If people have the necessary resources to complete a project normally then the project is not deleted even if it took years because it can be solved in-game, but if someone puts 1 gram of something big then it's obvious sabotage and asshattery.

I received the request, but since I wasn't sure if you wanted the resources back, I left it for Seko to handle...except she didn't get it (he sent it to programming). If you don't want it back, I can clear the project.

Personally, I think of it like a way of destroying machines, which hasn't been implemented and propably will never be.

I think destroying machines would be a great addition to the game but it might be difficult to program. If there was an in-game way of damaging machinery, people wouldn't have to resort to unnatural methods like 1-gram junk projects.

Ultimately, anything that can be constructed should be able to be deconstructed. This is the master plan. I'd love to see someone in programming take it up.
