Interesting Note

Postby Mavsfan911 » Thu May 13, 2004 10:58 pm

found this in blojt, thought it was pretty good

Ailments in the Blojt Area
By Dr. Christopher Singh
=============================================================================
Poisonous Carrots
Symptoms: Victim falls ill, panics, and goes into a brief coma.
Upon awakening, victim begins to speak in reverse. Two bite marks
are apparent on the neck. Reason for the bite marks has yet to be
determined.
Cures: Though the potato-hitting treatment was applied upon first
discovery of this sickness, the ingestion of a mushroom purged
the victim of a carrot-like mass which seemed to be the cause of
the problem.

`Evil` Resources
Symptoms: Declaration of `evil entities` that exist within the
resources in the area of harvest.
Cures: Possibly therapy sessions that would disprove the existence of
said entities, removal of mushrooms or any other hallucinogens from
diet of victim.

Distant Twinism
Symptoms: Different individuals reflecting very similar
personalities though they are seperated by vast distances.
Cures: Not necessisarily a disease of sorts, but still very odd
component of mutation. Cure might be possibile in asking
the victims, what their sense of self is.

Wood Fever
Symptoms: Loss of memory, some eventual recovery of memory.
Victim has fits of pain and schitzophrenic occurences.
Severe fever to the point of radiating heat.
Stagnant breath followed by vomiting.
Cures: None known at the time

Amnesia
Two versions(Amnesia A, Amnesia B), once at spawn(Amnesia A),
sometimes ocassionally seen in severe trauma to the head(Amnesia B).
Symptoms: Amnesia(a)- Complete loss of memory, no recollection of existence
Amnesia(b)- Complete loss of memory, distrust towards others, anxiety
Cures: In Amnesia(a) there is no known cure at the time.
In Amnesia(b), memory may come back slowly if familiarities
are introduced.

Hysteria
Symptoms: Random violent behavior towards random people with no
provocation.
Cures: Isolation of vicitim, possible therapy sessions.

Kleptoism
Symptoms: Stealing of all objects in sight: food, notes, tools, and
resources
Cures: Punishment through negative reinforcement

Mass Amnesia
Symptoms: Time in history when everyone forgot the names of known
friends, allies, or enemies, in some cases, forgot their own names.
Cures: None known, remedy was to relearn all the names.

REPORT ADDITIONS
=============================================================================

Clinical Report
By Dr. Lance Avery
Subject: Lost Alex Followme, prefers to be
addressed as Lost

Background: Rumours re:
a man seen in Blojt Forest, displaying similar symptoms to a resident
of Blojt. Twinism suspected. Lance Avery, physician in training, sent
to investigate. Subject located easily in the forest, a verbal
examination conducted, and subject asked to travel to Blojt to meet
Dr. Singh. Subject voluntarily obliged.

Symptoms: Subject very
concerned that the trees of this particular forest are “out to get him”,
they can “hear everything” and very paranoid that other people “are in
league with the trees”, especially is they are “taking the wood from
the trees”. He is very concerned that others do not say his name “when
the trees are listening”, which is “when they make sounds in the wind”.
He
also seems very concerned with people “treating him like a kid”, and
“not wanting him around”.

Physical Behaviours:
1) Threatening others who he feels a threat from (those
he feels are in league with the trees), with his slingshot, though he
was never seen to fire it at anyone
2) cowered in fear of the trees, shaking terribly
3) threw cookies when felt he was being teased
4) became very upset and frustrated when people had trouble with his
name, and moved off by himself
5) abruptly left town when he felt he wasn’t wanted. Unable to be
convinced to return when his concerns were refuted by Dr. Singh.

Diagnosis:
1) Severe Delusional Paranoia
2) Inferiority Complex, causing him much difficulty fitting into
society
3) Twinism ruled out, though fellow subject displays similar
Delusional Paranoia, but hasa much more stable sense of self.

Suggested Treatment:
Unfortunately the subject is no longer present,
therefore a treatment plan was unable to be evaluated.
However, the following treatments might have proven somewhat effective:
1) continued support from those in his environment, to give him a sense
of worth, and being accepted by others. (Positive interactions to build
his self-esteem) Perhaps a positive relationship with a female might
prove of much benefit to him.
2) Positive Reinforcement - rewarding him for appropriate behaviour.
Ignoring inappropriate behaviour, as long as it did not break laws or
infringe on others rights.
3) Intense psychotherapy, delving into his reasons for feeling the
trees are evil, and why they might be after him. Regression therapy
might be most effective in getting to the root of his problem, event
in this forest that might have led up to his delusions, then working
backwards to show him that trees are just trees.

Very impressive
Somehow you strayed and lost your way,
and now there'll be no time to play,
no time for joy,
no time for friends
- not even time to make amends.
You are too naïve if you do believe life is innocent laughter and fun.

I thought this was very funny, my character picked up a copy and still enjoys sharing it with others now and then even though the good doctor is deceased.

The tree man, indeed. Lost he said his name was. No cure for him I'm afraid, too much damage done already.

Great note, very original. :D
