old projects with negative resources needed

Postby nateflory » Fri Nov 13, 2009 4:10 pm

In Zirinovskoizi Forest (south), I noticed there are two projects to carve "recurve lower limb" that are unable to be completed due to needing "negative resources".

Participants:
Initiator: is not here anymore (2255-3)
Progress: 0.0 percent
Days required: 2
Project type: Manual
Materials: wood (200 grams used of 100 grams needed)
Objects:

Attempting to work on them produces the error:
ERROR: You need to use -100 grams of wood first.=

You know, if I find enough of these, it could be a great way to collect wood without actually, you know, spending the time to "gather wood". 8)

Meh, I can remove the extra wood but I'm not giving it back to someone who just found the project since it wasn't their wood in the first place.

Too bad the requirements and used resources are stored as strings instead of in a separate table. Otherwise it would be possible to run a search for all the entries that have negative requirements. Now it wouldn't be possible without splitting the strings with php.

Thanks!

...and I was not serious at all about getting the wood from the project in-game. Sorry if any /sarcasm was missed there. :)

Thanks for clarifying, I'm not always certain about what is meant as sarcasm. I removed the projects and then I got a cool idea, if I search for %>-%, that gives me all projects that have negative requirements. But there's only one in addition to the ones you reported.

I wonder if the game checks if the wood is already added at all.

Maybe the resources are deteriorating inside the projects when not in use... *plays with his chin hair*
