Does anyone play from a mobile?

Postby 88302 » Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:00 am

I realize this possibly gives a couple of my characters away, so I've been putting it off. I'm wondeirng if anyone plays cantr from their mobile phone. I've found that some of the significant links don't work on mine, and I don't know if this is specific to my phone, all mobile devices or if there's simply a setting that needs to be changed.

*nods* I have try it a few weeks ago, but now I have a Netbook. Let me remember.

When you go to Cantr and try to play, many symbols don't visible. Only "send ..." You know.

You can try to search cantr with google, and then google can "confert the pages for a mobile phone. Than you can see the most buttons, but the "back to players page button and the left the building button are not visible.

But when you change between the "normal" and the "google converted" Cantr

You can play (uncomfortable) but you can play.

I have no problem playing cantr on my phone everything works. Well if I start with certain letters with typing it closes the Internet.

Works better for me, just the manufacture menu for cloths and things doesn't.

But nice otherwise! 8)

Well I have all of the buttons, everything looks how it should, but some of them seem to only be images and don't serve their function on the phone.

The main bar for example, Events, Inventory, Location, etc. Selecting those doesn't do anything.

Neither does the back to players page, ask for help or the sign out button. Which I think is strange, because the write a note, manufacture and sewing buttons work fine.

When I had a trio, Cantr worked great.

On my blackberry, it works part of the time. Often if too much is going on I will go into a character and not be able to see any events even though it takes forever to load so I have to wait until I get home. Also, sometimes the return to player page doesn't work.

Are you one of those people who have the very nasty and discouraged habit of typing things like : "(a woman in her twenties) says: `(OOC: im actually in the car right now on the way to a family vacation. We just hit the hill country and my signal is almost not-existant. lol)`"?

If you stopped that there would be no chance of giving away your chars you know...

G1 FTW!

I can play just as easily as if sitting at my desktop or laptop, the only difference being the smaller keys. It displays the same (full HTML) and have never had a problem.

It's not me, I assure you. I capitalize my I's, know how to use an apostrophe, get sick on road trips, especially if I'm reading- and I haven't had a family vacation in years. And, of course, you won't ever catch me saying "lol" without quotation marks.

Bolt Browser

Postby Rob Maule » Fri Nov 13, 2009 6:11 pm

If you're having problems with Cantr on a mobile phone, I suggest using the Bolt Browser. I use it on my Blackberry Storm, and it's simply amazing.

I find it to be nearly identical to viewing on a PC. The buttons, though, are changed to default grey buttons. I think the only thing I changed in the Preferences was to turn off Inline Editing, which allows me to enter text in a new window, instead of the tiny text boxes.

Cantr works wonky on my phone, but probably cuz I don't have a data phone or whatever its called. I can see the green, and the buttons. but half the time clicking does nothing, or takes me to a previous page. Which sucks.

I also cant enter any text and have it send, so I just use it to read.

I can't remember if I ever used "manufacturing" menu, but on my E51 everything else works perfect. Sometimes some buttons have the same icon (i.e. "drop" and "pass"), but if you remember what is what on the PC you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm using Opera Mini browser.

I do use opera mini, but it's not nessecery on my phone.

The reason the menu for manufactury don't work on most primitive phones is because the menu is in javascript, but other language groups use the old html build which works for me too. My phone can't load the cloth menu page because it's quite bit.
