General Purpose Roleplaying Object
Firstly, let me say, I know this suggestion would mean work for the RD or the PD. But I want to get rid of it nevertheless.
Idea: make general purpose objects createable, which don't do any more function than just being there.
Howso: A player wanting to create a project for a general purpose object selects "general object" from the list. He then enters a name and a short description (which is invisible later). Then this project is however not existing yet, PD/RD has to go over it, and determine, if this is acceptable and if yes specify what ressources are needed. If acceptable the project is created and can be filled.
The result is an object, one of a kind. For more stuff you need new project requests. If a lot of requests come in for the same thing, RD can make a new type of object like it is the way now.
Technically this must not mean a cluttering of the database, "general objects" could all be in one table. In the interface General roleplay ojbects could be marked as [RPO] to let the player now its not a thing actually useful for anything, and not of a general type.

*plays with chin hair* Hmmm
So you mean to be able to make an object from any given material that is then given a name that none can see (DYNAMIC OR NOT?) and a discription that would be equally invisible. For no other purpose than to exist...
I kind of like it...
however you could technically use notes to make these objects:
In title : Object: pencil
Inside note is description: A burnt piece of stick
Kind of makeshiftish...

Ok... I see how that might work... The description that the PD and RD are prolly looking for is the description of how it would work... Like:
And anything else of the sort you can think of. As well as the indepth description that is used for every item made of this type. As I understand it they are VERY specific.
It could be something simple like: A general object that may consist of any material at set variables of size as well as given any name and description used for general object roleplaying...

The title of the object would be of course public visible. The indepth description should rather be for RP/DP only.
You see X giving a pencil [RPO] to Y.

Yet again I don't see how this would benefit the game. We have a perfectly suitable system to create items already that works instantly and doesn't require human resources we simply don't have. It's called emoting. Type "*he gives him a pencil*". Voila! We won't, can't and don't need to cover every minor detail by game mechanics.
Pretty in pink.

Didn't you even wish to decorate your home with things that don't exist?
How about a picture of .... your loving one, your desised friend?
How about a teddybear?
I cannot emote things to be there when I'm not there.
In the same argument we could remove all items existing that are not further used, as they could be roleplayed just as well.

Catpurr, I use notes for that. Like, one of my characters has a note "*A severed penis, two ears, a finger, a big toe.*" which she carries in her inventory. If she were to die, or decide to leave those trinkets somewhere, or something like that, then people will be able to see it.

It would be neat if custom descriptions could be attached to items or why not even piles of resources? If others disagreed with them, they could remove the description like a key tag. Then you could take a few grams of meat and call it a severed finger. Although it would be even neater if you could combine a few grams of bone and some meat and hide and call that a severed finger. Or combine food resources and call it a meal. Although you couldn't eat it without disassembling it, but technically you also disassemble a meal in real life when you pick things out of it with a fork or a spoon.
Not-so-sad panda

That's a one-time effort suggestion and much better than the original suggestion, me likey

Sounds interesting.
Anybody can think of possible problems coming with this?
