Marketing potential

Postby Snake_byte » Sat Oct 24, 2009 2:04 am

*NOT SPAM*
I'd just like to direct the attention of the marketing staff to an online MMORPG game listing site.
It has listings to many popular pay and non-pay games, an extensive forum, many members, and easy navigation. Hence you can see why it is a good idea to look into it.
I've recently suggested adding Cantr to their listings but others motioning for the same game will definitely help. .
An obvious site name:

ONCE AGIAN: NOT SPAM. Let's try to get Cantr listed here :D

Thanks Snake_byte.

I doubt Cantr fits their second criteria:

The game should have the capability to support at least 500 congruent users on a single server. This is not a reflection of the game's current subscriber count, but rather reflects the capabilities of a game's technology.

I'm pretty sure that the server would have meltdown if we ever exceeded 250 players on at one time, but I won't let that stop us from trying. Then again, I've never seen it more than 130, so I suppose that aspect is untested.

Their screenshot requirement, I suppose, is to prove that the game works/is real.

I'll try to get together what they need, and then I can call upon the players to bombard them with petitions if needed.

Oddly, they don't provide a method to communicate game suggestions, even though they imply that there is a way. There's nothing on their contact form for new submissions. Do you think you could look into that for me?

I checked that. None of the options in the pull down seem to apply to game suggestions.

I had found it once... I thought it was all on the same page as that other stuff (screenshots and logo...) I have three Screen shots prepared from my account btw...
Edit 1: Not sure if I'm allowed to blur certain text like charrie name as thay ask for them unaltered... But still I don't mind sending them as is.

Edit 2: http://www.mmorpg.com/faq.cfm/showFaq/4 ... -this.html
but that is already up there - second link
Besides that I think that you just post all of this on the forum... but there is also a dialogue box at the bottom of this link that may help... http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm

Those screenshots are pretty awesome. Usually they tend to show neutral stuff but that one shows a lot of dialog and the screenshot with the boat is cool because it gives an illusion of movement.

Here's an idea, people could start taking screenshots of the game when something interesting happens and use a sequence of pictures to display how the story develops. Wait at least 4 days, then publish. I wish I'd come to think of this yesterday or when was it, since there was a bit of an exciting scene that involved the location page and not just events.

Thank you Seko. I tried to get some different shots of the game to show what it offers. Not just the charrie page and other regular shots... I also included the manufacturing page to show how many items can possibly be made.
