Map Idea/problem
Ok well I ave this idea about a graphacal map I'm making on paint on my comp. I want to put it in a note so that others in cantr can see it.
My problem is: I don't know how. Pretty simple right?
If anyone can help me PLEASE tell me. Thank you

There are many people who know better than me.
Basically you get in into "paint" by alt-prtsrcn on cantr then ctrl-v in paint.
Then there is that "select tool" in "paint". THe one that is a dashed box. That will allow you to get just the part of the image you want. You can use that to do the Edit|Copy to from the menu into a new file.
When you get multiple pictures then you can cut and paste them into a larger picture.
When you get the final one ready do a File|Save As and select JPG instead of the default BMP format.
That should be enough to get you really confused and frustated until someone explains it better.

I find it easier to use photoshop. I started such a map for Ambrose Corla a while ago but I have never actually used it yet. But it is so much powerful plus I can use a filter to make it look hand drawn and stuff. It's pretty cool looking but as of now I have no plans to implement it to Ambrose's map.

Snake, if that doesn't work for whatever reason, you can upload your image to one of the many free web photo hosting services. I don't use them, so I can't recommend one, but if you go to google.com and search for "image hosting", you'll get zillions of sites. Once you've uploaded your image, then just paste it into a message here, using the IMG button in the message composition page.

That looks like it should have worked. When I paste the URL into a separate browser window, I can see your map, but for some reason it's not displaying properly here. Anybody from Cantr support have any thoughts?
In the meantime, for others reading this thread, the URL to Snake's map is: URL deleted
The map looks good, Snake. You also going to provide a legend to explain your symbols, lines, terrain features, etc.?

Not even just for discussion & development purposes, as in this topic? And does that mean that Cantr will provide space for such items?

You mean, you want us to remove our URL references in the previous posts?

Yes, you probably should remove the image and url since it is in an occ context. And it is preferred to have any images in notes hosted on the cantr server so that the notes will stay "immortal" like others without having to worry about other servers stopping hosting the images, deleting them, going inactive, or problems with displaying due to server policies. Obviously convert images to jpg or gif before sending to reduce their filesize.

OK, done. creepy, are you on the Cantr staff? if so, can you tell us what's the procedure for putting a file on the Cantr server?
it would be very helpful if people could simply attach files to message posts here in the forum. I know that this message board software supports that feature -- what are the possibilities of enabling it?

Even though it's not applicable to in-character graphics, I quite enjoy Photobucket image hosting...it's very roomy and has remote linking. It's what I use for my website...
