If you put it in the [code] tags, it will work. Those phpbb boards make from 2 or more spaces, 1. If you use the [code] tag, it wont.

My whole 2 cents worth! *listens as the crowd goes wild* lol

Postby Ramsey » Thu Dec 04, 2003 6:35 pm

Well, I can't contribute much here, but, I can say that being a newbie here, the player dept. was very quick to get back to me when i signed up, and pretty much gave me all the info i needed to actually start the game.

Although some things were a little confusing, I guess the Players dept. is there for my questions as well.

So all in all, I'd say......Don't fix what's not broken

The whole 2 cents from yours truly,

Ramsey

Well you wanted more feed back so here you go.

1. Why does the Player's Department exist?

The Player's Department Exist's to ensure that players know the rules of the game, they also provide information for players who have questions.

2. If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action would you take?

I would read the e-mail and if needing a reply I would reply.

3. What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department?

Isn't that more of a Job description question? I think they are to provide service to the players to ensure quality in the game.

4. Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling it's responsibilities?

Well, you posted these questions, didn't you and people are answering them, right. So, I'd say yes.

5. Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?
Well yes. I do. 8)

6. Who is in the Player's Department?

Other than cos, I don't know? But do the players need to know. Can you name every one in the Pentagon?

7. What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Departmant?

I have no suggestions for this.

Why does the Player's Department exist?
To help the players and deal with any problems and questions from the players.

If you receive an e-mail from the Player's Department, what action will you take?
Read it. Didn't have a dispute so I deleted it.
Read it, (it was telling me something i had figured out on my own) sent a question. Didn't get an answer but later did get a message that the problem had been fixed.

What are the main responsibilities of the Player's Department?
To deal with the problems of the Players.

Do you feel that the Player's Department does a commendable job in fulfilling its responsibilities?
I don't have any complaints. Keep up the Good work.

Do you feel comfortable communicating with the Player's Department?
Sure, If I have a problem that I can't find the answer on the message board for. I will send them a message.

Who is in the Player's Department?
Don't Know. Won't really care until I have need to contact them.

What would you like to see change about the approach of the Player's Department?
Why change something that is working good. Wondering do they get paid for what they are doing?
Are they in charge of the daily reports? If so fix the html stuff it's coming to me as text, and it's hard to read. You guys do know we are in the year 2004? Give me a new update to read.

"There, was, a character who was a thief and who also struck a lady of Blojt. She fled, and was cornered. When escape was not a posibility, she broke into ooc telling the other character in pursuit of her that she would have him removed from the game if he, or the Lady killed her. Not the person who played the lady, but the the man who was in pursuit. She then eluded to the fact she could have us both removed and ,we, were somehow in trouble. I didn't snitch, because that's not my way. The character is dead now, so I imagine there's nothing the staff can do."

On the surface there still seems to be serious issues within the players department.

Besides reommending a little clean up in that area may I suggest that even long time players do not know the histories of all the chracters in the game. Too often information gained in the players dept it used against chracters in the game indirectly and also if chracters are not know to the players dept staff then it is very difficult to do anything but be a slave in many towns. Or that was the case in the past and from the above and the discussion that followed it seems like nothing has changed.

Good luck with that.

That suggests that there have been serious issues in the past. That's not the case, though.
If you go beneath the surface, there has been one serious issue with a staff member who abused their privileges to have a character impersonate an already dead character, which seriously damaged the game in the affected region, but that staff member almost instantly quit, after it was discovered.

If you have facts to base your accusations on, we'll listen and investigate. If we want punchlines, we'll read the Sun. ;)

Ah, it made things interesting in that region, from the point of view of a character spawned after that date.

Besides, it has almost no effect remaining now.

That region was already seriously damaged by staff abused which I presented. Twice. And was ignored. Twice. And I belive that that instance to whcih you are referring is very minor compared to the constant UNINTENTIONAL staff abuse.

Please continue to belive that having a staff member high up in Pok, Macgregors, and the forest all at the same time is not a high level accidental collusion. As was show on many occasion.

But you are still blind.

Nice game if it was absued from the top.

The capital rule is really only for non-staff.

Good bye.

Meh, the only incident of staff abusing their powers that I know of is the one Thomas mentioned. I'd not say that you've got any grounds to accuse people of this.

Gorram it, why am I always left out of these OOC, capital rule breaking staff groups? :?:

Now I feel left out.

I don't see how it is a capital rule breach if you have a three characters in positions of power in three different areas even if they are in the same region. As long as the individual characters have their own goals, intentions, and personalities than I don't see a breach. And if you are claiming that this would make the player more likely to work things between areas so he doesn't lose a character than I would like to point out that I have had on many occasions had characters work and even in the end died as a result of what another of my characters have done for example:

Zak DoUrden and Sester Gartaf and later Sester Gartaf and Paoream Safthes

Robert and Easle Quathak and later Richard Lenseth and Easle Quathak

Hmmm... Lenseth died because Tadgh was corrupt, because Dartel was Tadgh's friend, and because Dartel shot a dangerous hawk...
