Re: burying chests and stuff.
I'd like to bring this back up, but suggest permanent burying of any item or resource. You can't retrieve it (unless or until a grid system is implemented for towns, or a visual layout).
Here is how I suggest it works:
It's a project. You start a project outside called 'Burying'. You add whatever resources you want to it. For every 20kg, that's 1 Cantr hour (which loosely fits in with burying bodies.. bodies take 2 cantr hours I think?? and weigh around 60kg??). Then when all resources are added, you start work on burying them (shovel required, so newspawns don't bury all the goods they find).
You can unbury it / cancel the project, provided the project is less than 100% complete.
The requirement of a shovel, as stated, should prevent abuse.
In hindsight, this is entirely different to the topic at hand but my original thread was locked, despite me not being able to find any related threads.

Re: burying chests and stuff.
If there's a grid implemented for burial, might as well do it for the whole town. So then buildings, outside machines, milestones, etc, would cover grid cells. As a conseqence, one could make a burial permanent by building a house over the burial site.

Re: burying chests and stuff.
I think a fixed 10x10 grid for each place is unreal. I think the number of spots should depend on the number of gathering slots.
