Locked docks
I'm very surprised to see a sudden (last two months) swing toward permanently locked docks, across a broad sample of regions. This was rarely the case when I previously played. Are pirates/thieves becoming *that* problematic? It discourages interaction, which tbh, is why we all play to begin with..

The one place I'm at that has a locked dock has been attacked several times by pirates/thieves which has forced them to become very suspicious and less likely to let people in. I think there is a rash of maybe 1-2 pirates attacking that is causing this because they had visitors from other regions nearby that were having the same problems.

Maybe if your characters didn't act creepy then people wouldn't feel nervous around them. Almost gave me a heart attack that one time when I went to the storage room and came back and your character had seemingly followed me inside, I was so close to slamming the door shut and pulling out my crossbow. It's often people with heavy weapons and crowbars that trigger a "this person is suspicious" thing, but some people can beat the first impression by acting charming and chatty.
With a locked harbor you can let people inside when you're awake, at your own terms, instead of having a well-organized group of pirates storm your town while you're sleeping. They could still use a smaller boat to come ashore but usually people just have dinghies, and those only fit two people. And if the main ship is positioned unoptimally, it's going to take at least an hour to dock back there and give defenders some time to retaliate. Although sometimes having a locked harbor doesn't help, if the attackers have several people awake at the same time and happen to get past the shield.

Yeah it depends what's happened. I have a character who always locks her doors, no matter what because of common thief newspawns. But then I have one who doesn't lock her door unless she absolutely has too, and frequently has people visiting. Someone she didnt even know walked in the other day and she was like...oh hai...drinking buddeh...

No, that was different, she invited him in. I meant this case (top-to-bottom):
2622-2: You say: "Here's some healing food, just in case."
2622-2: You give 1000 grams of honey to Daxerty.
2622-2: You say: "Well, most likely the trouble would find you before I'd do, so let's just hope everything will be alright."
2622-2: Daxerty says: "I can assume that you'll get me at the first sign of trouble? *looks up from the scrap of paper*"
2622-2: Daxerty says: "Hmm...wood, water, and dry tea. *examines the recipie*"
2622-2: You give a brand new Mortar and Pestle to Daxerty.
2622-2: You say: "In here. It requires an oven. *She waves her hand towards the coal oven.*"
2622-2: Daxerty says: "Do you need me to do that in here, or outside?"
2622-2: Daxerty says: "*nods* I can, yes ma'am."
2622-2: Daxerty says: "Did you hear the comment about writing her name on him with deer blood? *shuders slightly in distaste*"
2622-2: You say: "Anyway, I was looking for someone to brew this tea now that the mortar and pestle are finished. Think you could do that?"
2622-2: You say: "Yeah, they're pretty strange. When I saw him here, I felt tempted to slam the door and lock it but that would've surely made him mad."
2622-2: Daxerty says: "That couple gives me the willies!"
2622-2: You give a new steel battle axe to Daxerty.
2622-2: Daxerty says: "Cooking? Yes ma'am. I'm not the best in the world, but I'm efficient enough that I don't burn my salads anymore. *chuckles*"
2622-2: You see Josephine leaving The Office, entering Kiii.
2622-2: You say: "Oh, Dax, have you ever tried cooking?" ---Of course she couldn't give him the axe while Josephine was still inside, that would've looked suspicious.
2622-2: You see Kronos leaving The Office, entering Kiii.
2622-2: Kronos says: "To use ones skills is never a waste."
2622-2: You say: "Like Twirdy said, I consider it a waste, but if you truly must then go ahead. Just don't hit the toucans."
2622-2: You see Josephine entering The Office, coming from the central area of Kiii.
2622-2: Daxerty says: "He was just coming to ask you if it was okay for them to hunt."
2622-2: Kronos says: "I came in to ask if it was permissible to hunt."
2622-2: You say: "What are you doing here?"
2622-2: You enter The Office, where you see 2 people, leaving Storage.
2622-2: You enter Storage, where you see 0 people, leaving Kiii Town Pantry.
2622-2: You take 1000 grams of honey.
2622-2: You enter Kiii Town Pantry, where you see 0 people, leaving Storage.
2622-2: You enter Storage, where you see 0 people, leaving Armory.
2622-2: You take a new steel battle axe.
2622-2: You enter Armory, where you see 0 people, leaving Storage.
2622-2: You enter Storage, where you see 0 people, leaving The Office.
2622-2: You enter The Office, where you see 0 people, leaving the central area of Kiii.
2622-2: You say to Daxerty: "Come to the Office with me. It might look suspicious if we started arming people out here."
2622-2: Kronos says: "We have had our fair share of people thinking they can take what is ours. "
2622-2: Daxerty says: "Though I can imagine that the weapons are well-needed on the open waters."
2622-2: Josephine says: "Kronos is a big softy, really.. he couldn't be a pirate even if he wanted to. *smiles*"
2622-2: Kronos says: "I can understand you uneasiness. We are well armed and sail around. *He smiles, nodding* "
2622-2: Daxerty says: "*nods* A relieving assurance. Pardon my wariness, but we do live on a costal town that is not unfamiliar to pirates and the like."
2622-2: Kronos says: "Unless they of course harm others."
2622-2: Kronos says: "Daxerty, we are no hunters of humans. "
2622-2: Daxerty says to you: "Ma'am, we've got a very strange couple on our shores, and I don't feel comfortable not holding a weapon. Which building is this armory in again?"

You mean this lil' tune?
I can't actually access YouTube from my phone in the outback, next to a uranium mine, but if it's Lazy town's "you are a pirate", then yes. I've sung it far too many times. Lol!
