I thought it would be adventurous and fun. After leaving with them, while they did emote in English when they were emoting to my character, they didn't when they were doing anything else (even if they were emoting -about- my character). Even asking OOC (which I loathe) for them to please do dual emoting (because there was one guy on the boat that wasn't bilingual), they didn't, so I left the ship, even though they begged me to stay. Sorry, guys, just couldn't do it. Being alone is preferable to not knowing what the hell is going on and having to run things through goonslate, which only works if you spell the words right and they're in the google dictionary.

I had a situation exactly like that. It was kind of annoying, so I too left the ship. I don't think they cared though. :P I've met one or two Dutch characters played by people who can't write (but do understand) English. This was quite a problem since a lot of the Dutch players have a character in a Dutch-German group, but luckily Dutch and German is similiar and it's usually easy to guess anyway, otherwise translators do a good job in general anyway for those two languages from what I've seen.

Some built-in emotes really wouldn't hurt. Not all players refuse to use English or any other language just because they don't want to - there's many that just simply can't.

Anyway, thought time! - I'm so freaking excited and nervous and happy and feeling funny. I feel weird. I am weird. And it's only going to get weirder O_O

I've gotten to the point where most, if not all, of my characters simply ignore anyone who isn't English speaking. The most generous of them all will give you a "translated note" (Its pictures) about the town laws and still talk AT (not too) you in English.

For a chunk of time I was trying to RP with a LOT of "Jestem" but when a majority of them became violent... I gave up. Its difficult to RP with people you almost ASSUME they are just going to go ape shit because you can't understand them. Hell, I had a MAJOR recent PD issue where, for shits and giggles, I actually translated the emotes... and the DUDE CHANGED LANGUAGES ON ME SAYING, "Oh, now I know you understand me, I must now speak like this".

So... I'm now a bit "biased", at least in game, toward anyone who doesn't know/speak/etc English.

On Another Note: I REALLY wonder about some things being "illegal" or not... I mean... its not "technically" against the law... except that I know better sooo... hmmm...

Problem is... he'll not mind. Actually, he'll thank me. :x

That last few weeks, keeping my characters fed has really annoyed the piss out of me. It's not that I want them to die, it's just that I can't be bothered to move them from what they're doing to go get food. I'm not sure what the deal is...

I can't go without Cantr on a short break of just playing one character and ignoring the others without being attacked for not replying in time, now. Now I'm literally being forced to be active. Jerks.

Tell them to go fck themselves you've got shit to do that isn't Cantr.

And yugo: I was talking about "helping" someone who is DEATHLY allergic to chocolate... but he might enjoy death so that ain't any fun. Just sprinkle a little bit of powdered cocoa in his coffee and BOOM... no more irritation.

Dudel, I wouldn't be complaining here if that was a possibility. These are the typical "we don't talk we just hit and run and do impossible emotes like *points at the item so that the prisoner can give it to him and he can let the prisoner go free again after that*" characters. And there's a lot of people whose style I just don't like. Un-doing other's RP, forcing things on others, etc. Those kind of things. And others.

Bahhh.

oh and i'm giving my parents two years until one is either dead by suicide or they are divorced. stupid attention whoring morons keep yelling and shouting at eachother, drama-ing about nothing at all, bah. They're like my grandparents when they're like that. Tonight's the final outburst after weeks of tiny quarrels. *shrugs.*

I'll need to remind myself to never marry someone like my mom, lol

There is always the option to ignore characters and/or do the same thing back.

To be honest, I'd rather a character die then have to deal with over abuse of RP forcing garbage. Actually, I was a bit tempted to do that not long ago except I found out OOCally that he was gonna live... well at least get "let out".

Its just a game, man... and you've got more character slots.

Maybe I'm over-tired but I had to read that sentence a couple of times before I figured out what it means. At first I was like "sucked into it?" and then a "hee hee, that sounds like a double entendre" and only the "oh, right, the place sucked".

I think there are some phrases that are easier to get if you live in the same country as the other person. Sometimes even the same county.....

I like a lot of different languages and had lots of fun with Polish, German, Dutch, English, Esperanto, Swedish characters, and some Spanish. But the biggest part of the group just ruins it for the others.

"How... sucked.... was it!?"

Language awkwardness is FUN! Although, I don't think even an American will get "that joke" without me remembering the name of the freaking show. Not to mention that the show is a bit old... actually I think its "before my time"...

Um... "Fill in the blank"... um... Iuno.

On another thought... it might have been a England-English show.
