Cant you tell the voice from an old woman apart from a young woman? I can!

I can also recognize many people I've talked to by voice.

It cannot be that hard, Its IMHO not any more difficult than remembering a face.

Concealing voices would be far too easy irl, so forcing people to reveal their identities over the radio is very artificial. It is a fact of Cantr physics that all voices over the radio sound the same.

This was a suggestion to allow people to track radio signals, not to reveal character identities over the radio. Let's get the suggestion back on track.

In another thread there was a suggestion which I liked of Dynamic Naming of radio voices.

This way even if you meet the person face to face, or as face to face as Cantr actually gets, you'd not know it was the other person.

Then again... you might have known one person for YEARS and not know they were also that one other dude/chick on the radio either. Named two different things.

Sounds difficult to program... but I like it so am repeating it.

i was looking before making a new topic and yes this is a great idea, we should have this dynamic naming feature on radio, so strangers would be like the usual man./woman in thier whatevers and when you meet them you recognie thier voice and voila, or people you already know, when they talk over the radio, you recognise thier voice.

but the triangulation of signals isnt bad either though i more favor the dynamic nameing, gives more risk to those who want to cause trouble over the radio

thing is, if a signal originates from a ship, it moves and the triangulating doesnt help much but voice recognition does :)
