How actually did it happen that the cantr maps are tilted?

topic says all. How did it happen that north is to the right?

To confuse young players and mess up their geography grades? *g*

That's what I figure the reason was. Cantr always tries to do something different.

I believe this has been explained some time, but I can't quite remember what it was. I think it was something about a sinus function that has been used instead of a cosinus function (or the other way round) when directions were calculated from the co-ordinates of the locations.

try to search for a AUSTRALIAN WORLD MAP!!!


this can be explained with the theory of geographics but i can't explain in english... as you can see my english SUCKS

Edit: Oh, I think I see what you're saying. However, a protractor doesn't have to be held horizontally. Or even be a semicircle.
