I've been playing the game "like that" sense I freaking started playing. It is YOU, in my opinion, who are playing the "game wrong".
So not "trying", accomplished. I get out of Cantr what I want out of Cantr... and I've said this IN THE PAST but only RECENTLY has it been a problem. SO SHHHH!
Let me play how I wanna play!

I agree with Seko, and Chase.
More or less, I think because Cantr is a social simulator, and is obviously modeled after our world to a point, it can be assumed that things from reality exist. Many of these things become IMPORTANT in societies. A society is absolutely nothing without a culture, and with Cantr's current mechanics a culture would be impossible. We can't make anything unique, we can't have complicated rituals. There aren't even mechanics for politics. Therefore it doesn't exist. There are no mechanics for emotion, therefore it doesn't exist.

Agree. You say it's about mechanics only, yet to let you play how you want. It's clearly not about mechanics, else, why do we bother with emotions, and displaying movements, like stooping by a fire.
'
Anyways, hypocrite.

I do, you special ed! X|
Have I ONCE, before that one post a bit ago, said "NO BAD WIRO DO IT MY WAY!"?
NO, I'VE NOT!!!!!!!!!! I've NEVER done that to ANYONE. I don't even care about Rigel's characters. (Minus the breaking of the rules thing). OOC, don't be a prick. IC, I don't care! If the game supports your actions then have at it. If the game DOESN'T support your actions then don't be UTTERLY SHOCKED when someone tells you "otherwise".
Ryaga - Either you didn't read my post or are being sarcastic? If the game mechanics "don't support it" then it doesn't "exist" in game, no... and it can't otherwise, not in my opinion at least.
Edit @ Rebma: I also said that this point could be argued against emoting. Read my posts, please?

I never said one "couldn't" only that they should not be horribly shocked when someone says "Nuh uh".
Also... one should not "create things with emotes" as emotes are fact. *He smiles* not *Did he smile?*.
*There are mosquitoes* (Fact) vs *There MIGHT BE mosquitoes* (Suggestion) Emotes are not a suggestion.
"*He waves his hand in front of his face* Dang mosquitoes!" (Fact of "waving his hands in his face" with a suggestion that it was due to "mosquitoes".)
One my ONLY state something AS FACT if the mechanics say that the item is in the world. (Fire, Animals on the animal page, meat, fur, whatever. I say trees are okay as long as one of the neighboring areas is a forest or has trees that one knows of... which may be a CRB but whatever.) Cantr DOES NOT say "there are mosquitoes" and it also doesn't say there ARE NOT so neither can be stated as a FACT.
You can RP how you wish... just don't be mad when someone else says, "Whats a mosquito?" or when someone doesn't "Play beyond the mechanics" or WORSE when they "Don't RP".
And Red: I didn't think you OR Wiro would read the post... which is why I'm not utterly SHOCKED to get what I got from the two of you.
Also: I started that off VERY SIMPLE but y'all didn't like that one so decided to fully explain.
Short: Cantr is a game and as a game is is based on the mechanics it was built on. Anything else that is not stated by said mechanics can not be "proven" and thus do not actually exist within the world that is presented. This includes mosquitoes, politics, WAR, family, and a SHMIT LOAD of other things.

Neither does Cantr itself really exist.
The mechanics are no more than words and letters, made up by humans, that are a fake replica of 'real world' objects and things.
Conclusion;
(You are pretty much stating;) 'Everything made up by humans, or the players, in this case, is false UNLESS the mechanics state it is real.'
The mechanics themselves have been made up by humans, so the mechanics are false. The mechanics do not state they themselves are real. So the mechanics must be false, which also means nothing else is real.
According to you you shouldn't 'play by the mechanics' either.
Correct me if you (any reader of this post) think I am wrong.

You may play as you wish (be that with or "without" mechanics) but either way you should not be upset of another plays be the opposite means. If you play "more then mechanics" someone who is "only mechanics" will have difficulty, or never, accepting something that the mechanics do not state as "there".
And your conclusion is taking things out of context. That is thinking OUTSIDE the world while mine is INSIDE the world. (And in my opinion that solution is a bit absurd)
If CHARACTERS create things that DO NOT EXIST other CHARACTERS have all the right to say so.
You, as a PLAYER, should realize that they, the opposite CHARACTERS, are ALLOWED to do this BECAUSE THE MECHANICS support them.. AND NOT your character.
I'm speaking "within the game world"... and within THIS game world, there ARE NO MOSQUITOES! (And further more it could be argued that there are not a LOT of things... some of which players do on a normal and common basis.)
Also (As this was brought to me via IM): No, there is not Politics or War... there is conflict and combat. The players then CHOSE to say "Politics" and "War".... rather add the "words" to imply something more "grand" then actually is.

I never said that you are not allowed to play as you wish. I simply tried to see your way of thinking. Pretty much try and understand it, and perhaps even accept it into my way of thinking. (Or partly integrate it.) I actually do agree on some of your points. I am testing your arguments.

There was no solution. It was a conclusion. Besides that, 'players' are OUTSIDE the world already. Characters are 'INSIDE' the world. But even then, there is no real Cantr-world.
Dudel wrote:If CHARACTERS create things that DO NOT EXIST other CHARACTERS have all the right to say so.
Rules never stated that. So it is an opinion, not a fact.
Dudel wrote:You, as a PLAYER, should realize that they, the opposite CHARACTERS, are ALLOWED to do this BECAUSE THE MECHANICS support them.. AND NOT your character.
No, but the front page, and even the wikipedia, along with some other sources, state you can play any ROLE you want. Technically it is a role being 'a person batting some mosquitos'. So it is true that you can play that role.
Dudel wrote:I'm speaking "within the game world"... and within THIS game world, there ARE NO MOSQUITOES! (And further more it could be argued that there are not a LOT of things... some of which players do on a normal and common basis.)
A lot of things are(n't) there. Yet they are. It is because it are the players that have been given the power to form the game, not the mechanics. The mechanics are no more than bones. The players and their imagination are the intestines, the skin, the flesh, the brains.

I am not sure what you mean here, please explain in more detail, I long to know.
