I highly disagree. I would spend every single last iron nail that I have to try to build a rail system, for a two simple reasons: Trains are awesome and trains are awesome logistical tools. If coded properly, this could be a great enhancement to the game.

I would actually enjoy seeing more steam powered machines in the game. Perhaps steam drills, tractors, maybe even steam powered looms - so that one that jeans will get cheap enough to become a "working class" garment.

Sorry for being off-topic, but I agree. That would only make sense though if engines would obligately require fuel. Steam engines would offer a nice alternative if you only have wood or coal accessible.
Better looms would be quite useless though since the limiting step is getting the raw materials.
Pretty in pink.

We should give trains adantages and disadvantages different then regular vehicles have.

There are islands in Cantr, which are big and have few cities - but well developed. There are covered with motorways. The problem is, that to ride somewhere you need to pass for example 10 locations - if log in once a day you will get there in 10 days. Person who is 24h online would be there tomorrow.

Maybe the train will take strait to the destination, without the need to log in constantly, in about two days? I would use it, belive me.

I also disagree that vans are as good as trains. Even a van can only carry 14 people even when competly empty. I've seen people unable to take others with them because their vehicle was full. On a side note train heists would work with a system similer to sea piracy. A vehicle would pull up next to a train and the people inside would board the train. At that point they could either kill all on board and steer the train themselves, or they could stealthily drag the contents of the train car into their vehicle.

We have buses and trucks now, haven't we?
Why do you need to improve trains, if we don't use even the existing vehicles now (such as buses, I've never seen any bus in Cantr)?

I have seen a bus.... But I agree I'm not sure a train is needed.

The only way a train would be useful if it used coal or wood as fuel. People might build this instead of a large vehicle that needs gasoline due to resource availability...

Steam trains are 100% cooler than diesel trains.

Well the train should use coal or wood but I think it can only be added if fuel is added.

Yeah, that would be the only point of having it...
