That's actually really good..considering how long people who signed up before all the first gens started having babies, and back when there were like...3 races? lolJoshuamonkey wrote:Although FTO is an example of how not to implement birth, because I made an account on July 1 and still see this:

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
Nice song! It's very familiar to me, but I never knew what it was called.

No, I don't believe Wikipedia is the place for unreleased (indy) games. Anyhow, my thoughts on the matter would be running the descendant of a MUD angle. Cantr is a MUD (MUCK, MUSH, MOO, whichever) on the web, at the most basic level. May give it a bit more perceived validity if you discuss how it has branched off from the concept of a MUD, or just Cantr's interesting aspects as a vworld.

Something exciting has happened! (for me, at least) I decided to go ahead with recreating the Cantr II page on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantr_II
I also re-uploaded a logo for it and recreated the Cantr page on Wikipedia, putting a redirect tag to take it automatically to Cantr II.
Let's see how long the page lasts!

I give it two weeks at most. It's still way too advertisement-y.

As a longtime wikipedian I also say the text doesn't sound encyclopedic. But I'll leave it alone.
Must not necessarily be two weeks, it can also take an eternity before some Wikipedian recognizes and requests deletion. But as the style is currently, I'd also expect a deletion request to go through if it should happen. Especially pages that have been already deleted once must try really hard to not have a new page get the same fate. Advice, make the text much more dry and neutral, concentrate on the most important things, cut the size of the whole article.

I've seen the Dutch version of the wiki page as well, and it is so much shorter and more professional. Swedish, finnish and spanish versions also seem alright.

But I'll leave it alone.
Please please please don't leave it alone.
Wikipedia is meant to be edited. The fact that it sounds like an advertisement can be fixed. I'd rather they put a tag on it saying it doesn't sound like an encyclopedia then delete it with the reason that it isn't even worth fixing.
Anyway, I'll see what I can do. I'm considering getting rid of the features part.

Cantr mentioned in (online) literature, magazines, etc.
I'm not touching this article in any way because of my inner conflict, since as wikipedian I would want to cut it to at most 1/4 of its currrent size, and I could even symphesize with people removing it. But there are already enough people mad enough here.
At most for exampele the whole Adminitration part, do it away, {nobody cares who is not into cantr itself.

generally I'd say, with every bad try, you make futures deletions more likely.

Cantr II is a browser-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) as well as a persistent browser-based game (PBBG). It is unique among other MMORPGs because it was devised with the goal of simulating society. To its users, it is also a good place to role-play and practice foreign languages. Unlike many similar games, it is available in many langugaes (14 in total - see below for details), Polish and English being the most popular.
That and the history are the only things that "should be there"... cause the rest don't seem right.
Not to mention that that first paragraph still "feels wrong". I'm not one to edit Wiki's but I know a "bad one" when I see it.
I'd suggest just leaving the page alone after it gets deleted and accept fate. The only way on is "really gonna get made" is if its 100% honestly done by a neutral third party and with the way Cantr works that won't happen sooooo...

This one is much better:

Cantr is a MMORPG that is readily accessible at [[1]] except for Tuesdays and when the Administrators are downloading pornographic material.. err.. for in-game reasons. It is a work-in-progress, meaning none of the staff can be bothered finishing it, so it was released to the public as soon as possible. In Cantr anything is possible- you can be a Pirate, a Town Leader, a vigilante.. to hell with all that, though, it's more fun to steal what ever is lying around in Cantr and/or kill off towns with your stolen crossbow!

These do exist. I put a list on the bottom of the Wikipedia page of some of them. However, it's hard to say they're trusted sources.
I'm not touching this article in any way because of my inner conflict, since as wikipedian I would want to cut it to at most 1/4 of its currrent size, and I could even symphesize with people removing it. But there are already enough people mad enough here.
I wouldn't mind that if it meant it became a good article, with good sources.
It's already got two death tags on it. Without third party sources, it's doomed.
I like this better than "insignificant topic." It means people are actually trying to help it instead of just deleting it.
Also, there are good longstanding articles with tags on them. And I think a good way to figure out what the article should look like is by comparing similar articles. Cantr II isn't the only small game that has survived. I'm hoping we at least won't get this: "This article may be written from a fan's point of view, rather than a neutral point of view. "
