Meem Gaile. I will be devastated when she dies.

I've had a few characters that have developed relationships with others and after a while my inactivity has been their downfall. I've posted this exact same thing on other forum topics. As soon as my characters have someone depending on them for RP interaction, my sporadic logging schedule dooms the entire thing. Cantr is a slow paced game but when my partner has a faster game speed as me, I feel inadequate and feel as if I am letting them down with my sleepiness.
I feel I am a good RP'er, but I know I am much better at reacting to poeple and events as opposed to being proactive and making my own fun here in the Cantr world. As usual, these posts are written late at night after I have had a few too many liquid refreshments.

if they do it right they can slow that character down to your speed.. just because people are not as active as others doesnt mean the more active players have to kep all their characters at the same speed. It sucks when a good player has to loose out on the company of the players around them because of their schedule. I say if you have a character interested in a sleepy character stick with it dang it.. learn to RP with their sleepiness before you give up on it.

It's not them, it's me. They have been very understanding and their RP has been consistent with their characters. When I miss a large amount of time, I then feel reluctant to log on and see what I've missed... and then the inactivity snowballs out of control... it's my issue not those I RP with or fail to RP with. I'm a much better loner.

Don't bother finding out what you missed then - just miss it.

*wakes up, looks around* Wow, that was a deep sleep. What's going on?

Yeah I do that. Sleeping means you didn't watch what happened.

Its not like you wake up in the morning and know what happened during your sleep IRL, yes?

I wish I COULD wake up every time there was a theft in my town and I had a big sword with logs of onions in my pocket!

I get this too. I try not to. But... still feel the same.

As to the original intent of the thread... not really. I've been really attached to some of their friends/lovers (whether I knew the player or not), but not to the extent you described in a later post (missing them when I'm logged out). I have shed a tear or two when one dies though. And it makes me immeasurably sad for awhile. I do channel my characters feelings very strongly when I am playing though.

Cried the other day when my charries husband died - I did that is, knew it was coming, wasn't surprised in the least but still cried. The other player was as surprised as I was that I cried too :-D

I do know that I will feel very sad if my two of my chars will lose their loved ones... I have many more chars with relationships but those two would really be painfull to me as the player. If their relationship would end in some way.

I don't have relationships in Cantr. :?:
Friendships, yes, and I can think of a few cases where I've (or at least my character =/) been greatly disappointed at the death of someone else's character just for emotional reasons, two being a traveling companion (using a boat).

Both my characters and I seem to be getting used to death in Cantr, and my own characters death still affect me much more than others.

Well actually I would be more sad for the other char then I would be about losing my char. Yes I wil be very sad but because my char will leave the other one behind.
