In one way the speech barriers in the game are even harder then in offline life, because ingame you cannot even understand emotes or (roleplayed) "actions" done in a different language.
In anotherway the speech barrier is lighter as you can understand languages you are supposed not to understand, or in that you can use babblefish.

And that's, my dear Evelyn, why I do not like you. At all. I don't know what the heck's wrong with you, but Cantr's not a game that is only played by you. It is played by many people, many of those who cannot speak nor understand a word Spanish. I believe this is one of your on-going vendettas against me that has led you to this answer? One of those vendettas off which I still do not know the reasons for? If it is, then why don't you start solving this the mature way and explain wtf is wrong with you?
So instead of trying to put the ego-mark on me, you should put it right on your own face. I'm simply trying to make the game playable for all, and asked for the cooperation of others on the Spanish forums as with the characters there I had my most recent experiences on this matter. And then what do you do? You very maturely post something in Spanish so I have no idea what you're rambling on about. So saying you already told me doesn't do much good anyway. I don't speak Spanish other than some very basic words.
I understand now that you would much rather roleplay all alone with other narrow-minded Spanish characters in a Spanish-only world, without any other language group, but then please do not play Cantr. Cantr's not Spanish. It's a game of many languages, and if you cannot be bothered to put the slightest amount of effort into making this possible, then in my humble opinion your opinion on this matter is worthless.
I'm sorry (not to you, Evelyn, to CD) if this sounded rude/offensive/mean/blahblahblah or anything, but I cannot for the life of me think of any other way to get my point across.

If you're going to insist Spanish emote in english with english around, then the english better emote in spanish with spanish around. Same with polish, german, french, etc. It's only fair. You can't ask everyone to emote in english just because you understand it (because believe me, many other languages dont speak much english.
So, in order for this to be a valid suggestion, you would have to make sure all players in all towns made sure to emote in all languages that are present, for fairness sake.
Now, good luck with that, and this English superiority complex.

Not like that, Rebma. I don't think you understood the suggestion.

I understood perfectly. In a town where for example half the people present (so 10 of 20) are english, and the other half spanish, you want it mandatory for the spanish to have to emote in english as well.
What I said still stands.

No. I want people who are capable of putting emotes in multiple languages, to make it possible for everyone to realize what's going, to actually do so. And not refuse to do it just because they are total douchebags and decide that for I don't know why that other languages are not allowed to understand the emotes.

Hmm. Adding a rule might be good and all. But do we have the work force and capabilities to back that up?
And another thing forcing people to rp shouldn't be a good thing. What if someone just doesn't want to rp with other language chars? I know one of my chars won't even look at them unless they provide trade opportunity.

That's not the same as not RPing with them.
It is the character refusing to interact with foreigners.
