five polish newspawns in about 6 or 7 days

Postby Arenti » Mon Aug 17, 2009 4:30 pm

In a town my char leads have been five newspawns in six or seven days all polish.... While otherwise we hardly get any newspawns.... So how is it possible that five spawn there in such a small amount of time and all Polish?

Is this normal?

Polish spawnrate is much higher. And I don't think the system works properly anyway. Some places get way more newspawns than normal while others get none.

Yes but it never happend before.... My char has been there for many years never seen a polish newspawn.... It's very annoying because no one can understand them in that town... Anyway is it smart to let polish people and also other languages spawn on English islands? I mean I'm sure many newspawns like that, and can't speak english will die soon.

Or take over the region... We should just accept my earlier suggestion of stopping minority spawning, then if people wanted to have newspawns in their own language, they would have to ensure that they represent the majority in their location. Especially when a lot of people don't know about the rule that you're not allowed to know another language than the one you spawn with. If the location happens to have dictionaries on the ground then you can use words from those (preferably speaking slowly and incorrectly) but if you go taking words from off-game sources before your character has studied the language in-game for at least two years, you shouldn't use words you haven't heard in the game. Not blaming the Polish players, also some English players don't know the rule.

I know it, and I do not really live by it.
My chars still don't know the full language after two years, and some of them do not even know any language at all. :P

Are you on a coast? You might of had some Poles docked in your harbor.

This answers a question I had lingering in my head for quite a while;

"Do characters in buildings spawn characters outside as well..?"

I don't think that's what Doug ment.

He probably ment that you've had some poles visit your town square. By docking their boat in the harbor and entering from there.

No, I meant what I said. ;) Characters in sublocations (buildings, vehicles) are counted towards spawning. It was told to me thusly from on high.

Interesting. So if I were to lock up the other language players that spawned at my location for some *cough* slave *cough* labor. I could expect some regular labor injections.

Interesting.

The location I'm talking about is in the mountains but there is an harbor nearby..... And it's possible one of the people living in town for a while already is polish... but still I can't do anything for those polish newspawns.... As none there knows the language....

There would have needed to be two of them. Even if they passed by for an instant, it would have been enough.

Well that town hardly gets travelers and I'm certain Polish sailers will not go that mountain... It's getting very annoying with so many Polish newspawns... I mean we never get any newspawns there well it's very rare.... and now 5 possibly 6 polish newspawns.... And I can't help them much nor can others in that area..... And the same with another town one of my other chars is in lately 4 or 5 Spanish newspawns. They can't read the laws in english and the laws of that town are if broken punished by dead mostly....

Argh, my characters (or at least one of them) has been thinking that if foreigners remain on their ship or go inside, they won't leave their offspring behind. But if a big ship docks in a small town, they can leave a seed population behind in newspawns even if they never went ashore. That sucks ass! >.<

Why can't they just only spawn on the island of their language? I'm sure they would want that....
