As for the font tag I mentioned, it would happen in the back, just like you have with images now. Much less intrusive than all that Java and Flash crap you can find these days, yuck

Why do you go to any web page then, Dudel? Every page contains elements you need to download to see it,
Even just the text itself,

logging in from the homepage, seeing new threads on the forum from the homepage are ideas I like. Although the more images of "cantr" the more other people's imaginations of cantr are forced on you. On the other hand it's if mass appeal or cantr purism is more important.

Same it was just the awkward English that "threw me".
lulkoek, I'm talking about pages that say, "In order to view this page please click OK to download or X to leave." Then you click the X and the window pops up again etc. I'm not talking java loading and flashing etc. X|

Um... We weren't talking about porn sites...
Every action has a consequence.

The idea of an improved front page incorporating a login form isn't bad, however the Bing/Papyrus frankenstein's monster you've posted here is too cramped, too graphical, and has no sense of an actual web page which has to work on different browsers, at different screen sizes.
The forum logo you've posted is admittedly better than the current one, although that's not saying much at all. It is too large and still uses Papyrus, which is a font that in my opinion has nothing to do with Cantr.
Also, WebFonts are an existing solution to deliver text using custom fonts on web pages, however AFAIK they are only supported in Safari at the moment, and it will take a few more years until the support is mainstream enough for them to be a valid consideration. (Even then, a backup websafe font would have to be selected so that the page degrades gracefully on old browsers).

It has been said before that the login form would not go to the main page because then people would run into less ads on the way. Although I doubt very many people go to the main page to enter the login page, at least I have the login page bookmarked now. In the beginning I didn't but I just write c in the address bar and it's the first link that pops up so of course I click it.
