Good bye my dead characters.

Postby Turtle_jay » Tue Jul 28, 2009 9:33 am

I didn't participate in the forums much, but I used to play Cantr a lot.
I am going on a mission trip to Tonga, and I will not be able to play for some time, so I have decided to let my characters die off. (I lost much of my interest anyway when Hidden Knife died and Thunk got kicked out of the silver knights. And I had been a very sleepy player since.)

Since they are all now dead, and not all that recently, I would like to give a bit of a tribute to them. *sigh* Losing them hurts, which is weird because I created them and I know they aren't real.

If any of my characters were a pleasure to RP with, or simply annoyed you to death, please speak up.
Names and a short bio.

I shall miss you.
Otigeon Shieldheart of DoUrden.
-A man of honor in a mercinary company. Had a profound hatred for the Alexian Empire. Ignored all other DoUrden recruits, and controlled Brinks Forest for some time. Always wanted DoUrden to return to how it was when Starn and Trucky were in charge. Died at the age of 75

Silver Knight Thunk.
-Single handedly built a great fortress for the silver knights, but was stripped of all honor and rank when he refused to hand the queen the keys to it, believeing that if the queen were to die with ever key in the kingdom, the knights were doomed. Died at age 73

Stinky.
-Very fun to play. Bugged many of you I'm sure. A man with a very strange fascination with 'poopy' and all things related to it. Whoever got his keys when he died inherited half the crap on Cantr. And a hand full of "cow/sheep make poopy" notes. Died age 74(?)

Payne de Dannan.
-Started out a thief, ended up a de Dannan. Really, a very boring character. Nothing happened in that freakin' town! Horray, we gather MORE Salt! Died much later than she should have.

Gadfly Windelbucket.
- Had a good nomadic town going made entirely out of a cart caravan. Then the town broke up, and Gadfly spent the rest of his days in a very lonely town. Suited the man fine, he prefered quiet. His last action, to declare talking illegal. Died in his 50s or 60s. Not sure.

Gaster
-Riches man in Cantr that I ever knew. He basically owned Pleauker. After multiple big businesses built up and then died, he just got more and more wealth. Eventually by simply owning most everything, he ended up in charge of the town. And he only ever wanted to fish. Died in his 60s(?)

Reeta Virp
-Worked her whole life in a small building. The goal for her was to get a bus, and become a land pirate. Hence her name. (Privateer spelled backwards.) Almost has the bus built before death. Died in her 50s

Onyx
-A bit of a rebirth of an older character "Black Minion". Conveniently (not an RP breach, someone died and left it) he even came across Blacks old religious note "Cult of Blasphemous Secrets" he ended up the captain of a nice Galion with literally every addition that could be built added. Even all the sails and that jazz. Died in his 40s(?) wandering around some mountains without anyone giving him food. Stupid resource run had deadly results.

Hidden Knife.
-Probably a psycho, and no small time criminal. His philosophy was, why steal a dropped item when you can spend a bit longer and steal an entire town? He was great in his younger years. Getting all possible knives that he could, and killing people with said knives. But he would only kill for money. Not a mercinary, but an assassin. Later was hired by Perun to be security for a town. Perun died and Hidden Knife took charge. Expanding his small empire by threatening and manipulating people in the jail to join him, he actual had quite a marry band. He had a few spies looking at other towns to raid and take over. Just the small towns that wouldn't be noticed when the inhabitants disappeared.
Until his expansions caught the attentions of the McGregors. His death was expected when a small army showed up on his doorstep. Age 71

I will probably return to Cantr in a few months.

I love Stinky! My character misses him. I like that he was brutally honest and sometimes abrasive. I'm a fan of abrasive characters. Also, very consistent.

Good luck in Tonga, and I hope to see you back!

Met this man with a couple of mine, He was always good to them and was well liked.

Silver Knight Thunk.
-Single handedly built a great fortress for the silver knights, but was stripped of all honor and rank when he refused to hand the queen the keys to it, believeing that if the queen were to die with ever key in the kingdom, the knights were doomed. Died at age 73

Thunk, thunk, thunk...While understanding his reasoning behind his refusal, it was not his choice to make. Shame things turned out as they did with him. He was a good man.

Stinky.
-Very fun to play. Bugged many of you I'm sure. A man with a very strange fascination with 'poopy' and all things related to it. Whoever got his keys when he died inherited half the crap on Cantr. And a hand full of "cow/sheep make poopy" notes. Died age 74(?)

Annoyed the hell out of Libby, and my other character just thought him silly and likely would have got rid of him if she'd have seen him again. :)

Onyx
-A bit of a rebirth of an older character "Black Minion". While I did not know Onyx, I believe if I remember correctly I was involved in the death of Black Minion. I DO remember that man and it was an interesting rp before he was killed. He pissed my DoUrden character off though.

And Hidden Knife I remember back as he was a newspawn. He was interesting then, I'd wondered from time to time what ever happened to him.

You've had many wonderful characters that have affected the lives of my own and I can truly say it has been a joy rp'ing with you. Thank you for the great rp and I do wish you well and hope you return to us soon.

I definetly knew Silver Knight Thunk and spent a good bit of time around him. I was not there when he died though since my character has been dead for a couple of years in RL. I hate that he got killed by the Silver Knights though, he was a very very dedicated Knight, and if I was around I do not think I would have stood for it.

I saw Stinky I few times, but did not know him very well. He was someone you definetly did nnot overlook though.

Correction. He died...was not killed. AFTER he refused to hand over keys and was stripped of rank. He was not KILLED by the Silver knights. :)

You're Stinky Cow!?

OI, he was annoying to my character and mine spoke funny.

"Stinky Hungry"... SO WHAT? Get your own dang food... oh and no thank you now?

Although, he was a tad too sleepy and unwilling to do more then talk about his "poopy" it was funny when not distracting my character from his job.

:D I really enjoyed that. It was so much easier for Stinky to simply demand food that it was for him to gather it. It just amazed me how people kept giving it to him.

My character gave Stinky food, ONCE, and then demanded work or that the guy starve. I don't think Stinky said much after that, at least not while my character was around.

I played the Baron that pushed for ceaseless construction of the Fortress. I had personal plans to write a poem or story about Thunk and his tireless, masterful work. (I think it was the Baron. I've played as a King, a Baron, and simply as a Silver Knight, all at seperate times ;) )

Shame to see Otigeon go... I played Trucky back in the day. Could have been more fun if I had more time to keep playing back then. Cheers!

PS Hidden Knife was a cool character.
